Massive gun prohibitions today in Canada

I want to move to the USA ASAP but I don't know of any way for me do to so Legally.

I'm stuck in Canada and I hate it...
No freedom of speech ( only government approved speech is allowed ).
No Castle laws.
Can't use firearms to protect yourself and loved ones.
Can't even protect yourself with your hands with out being criminally charged, even if there was 1 million witnesses collaborating your truth.
Doctor can kill you accidentally or intentionally and can't do nothing about it.
Schools fly the Rainbow flag above the Canadian Flag (even tho it's illegal).
Everything is more expensive, even if it comes from Canada (for example., it's cheaper to buy CANADIAN MADE Maple Syrup in the USA).
Middle class families have worst medical benefits than people on Welfare (YEAH... NOT ALL HEALTH CARE IS FREE IN CANADA !!!)
Government takes 20+% of my pay cheque ("Check" for you Americans), then proceeds to take another 13% from every dollar I spend.
Takes the government 2+ years to pave 1 mile of road that lasts only 3 years before it disintegrates and has to be paved again.
And then some.

It's a very sad day here in the Great White North. Our Liberal government and Prime Minister Trudeau announced a list of 1500 firearms that are now prohibited. Many of these were already listed as restricted which entail a special license, having the gun registered, only allowed to be fired at an approved range, special license to be able to transport from your house to the range, to a gunsmith or to the police station, only by a direct route of travel with it locked and in a locked case. ( all hand guns have these same rules )

The list of prohibited guns includes essentially all center fire semi-auto rifles: Bushmaster, AR15 or any variant, Ruger Mini14 etc. etc.

Also included is any gun that creates more than 10,000 joules of energy (7,400 foot pounds). The target here are .50 cal rifles, but also includes many big game rifles: 460 Weatherby, many of the Nitro Express, etc.

This was done in the name of safety, and was pushed through using a Order In Council, which is a way to bypass any parliamentary debate or democratic process. With the stroke of a pen it is done.

There is a 2 year amnesty period which the government is using to come up with a buy-back program. This is more like theft in my opinion, using tax dollars to pay for something that people have legally owned for decades. Grrrr. It sounds like you may have the option to keep the gun under a grandfather clause, but it can never see the light of day, simply a safe queen.

I feel we are on a downward slope here. Our Liberal government, lead by fancy socks Trudeau is headed towards a UN / globalist doom.

Sorry for the long post, I needed to vent.

Then why don't you (Canadians) stand up and say NO?

Are you free men? Do you have Natural Rights? Has Common Law been completely abrogated?

Stand up!

Tell little Justin to go fornicate himself, vigorously, with a sharp stick!

In fact we don't have rights the way Americans do. Property rights, and especially guns are not a right here. In fact all guns are illegal, we may possess them with the proper licensing only. Every gun owners name and status is monitored continually in a monitoring program for crimes etc that may lead to your guns being taken away.

Zero333 above is correct, we have no castle law. If you were to shoot someone on your property you will be immediately charged, then spend your life savings to prove that it was warranted, then you may be acquitted. As has been the case close to me very recently, you may then be handed a civil suit from the criminal.

Another problem here is that a large portion of our population lives in a select few cities in Ontario and Quebec. They seem to drive too much of what happens across the entire country, though our needs are vastly different.

Things are getting worse and worse here, quickly.

He sounds like so many others in government offices, they ram pam the good guys by banning various firearms, thinking they are doing harm to the criminal, when all it hurts is the legal and lawful citizens.
Criminals don't obey the present laws, nor stop using banned weapons, they still steal or buy on black market and keep doing their criminal activity.
But these politicians just can not seem to understand or see the truth and keep going after the honest citizen.

Yes, it's much easier. Virtue signalling at its finest.

I should mention the description they have been working with, "military-grade 'assault-style' weapons".
Full automatic weapons have been prohibited here since the '70s.
During the press conference this morning one of our top politicians said "we are getting these weapons off the streets, they have only two purposes: killing many people, and looking like they can kill."

Looking like they can kill?! I nearly spit coffee all over my laptop at that point.

Studies have shown the vast majority of gun crime in Canada is gang related, it is estimated that 80% or more of those hand guns are illegally brought in from the US.

There has never been a mass shooting with an AR type rifle, but you wouldn't know any of that listening to our politicians or the mainstream media, who coincidentally received a 600M bailout from the government and pander to their every need.

Proof that Canada sucks like California:

By axiom of identity

CA = CA [equation 1]

Under ISO 3166 ALPHA-2 designation

Canada = CA

By symmetry

CA = Canada

By substitution on the left hand side of equation 1 above

Canada = CA [equation 2]

But by US postal state code

California = CA

By symmetry

CA = California

By substitution on the right hand side of equation 2

Canada = California [equation 3]

Therefore, Canada sucks like California.

Oh, it has crossed my mind plenty. There is a bit of a growing movement, especially here in Alberta, to separate from Canada, possibly with 2 or 3 other provinces. Perhaps to create a sovereign nation, or join the US. Mon-berta might be fine with me! (I'm 1 hour North of the Montana border now)
Lot of room here in Utah and you don't have to be a mormon. LOL

For myself Montana, Wyoming, riding my Harley in the Dakotas, maybe Texas? Lots of good options.

Aren’t you guys sparsely populated? Just hold onto your guns and do whatever you want. That’s what I would do.

I always find laws funny. Some guy I’ve never met, meets up with a guy who I’ve also never met, at a place I’ve never been, without me knowing about it to makes rules and restrictions that directly impact me. I have no say in the matter, and when I speak up I’m told I don’t know what I’m talking about because I’m not a lawyer.

Laws are the most unjust, disgusting thing man has created. All in the name of “protecting me.” The road to hell, gentlemen, the road to hell.

It is not just firearms. Speech, economics, education and even science are under attack across the western world. Believe it or not the attack on economics is an even bigger problem than all the others. The other attacks just set the stage to make the fall a matter of fact. In the 1940's an economist named F.A. Hayek wrote a book called "The Road to Serfdom". He was an Austrian who escaped the NAZI takeover of Germany/Austria. That book basically articulated the path to serfdom based on his observations of the mechanisms that allowed it to happen. He was correct. We have most recently seen it play out in Venezuela but the entirety of the western world is on that path. He wrote a followup called "The Abuse and Decline of Reason". A most excellent title that pretty much articulates that challenge all people who value "reason" are facing.

Was grading township roads about 20 miles off the Canadian border near Estevan SK yesterday and it was being reported in the hourly news on the only radio station I could get out of CA. It was reported like an item that was newsworthy but would have little interest.

You get what you voted for, and who voted were also who you let into the country. The U.S. is and will take the same path, as more Californians, New Yorkers(and immigrants) leave their car_ holes, and move into conservative areas with small populations. School boards, local governments, and judges(county and town representatives) swing away from traditional beliefs and activities and no longer reflect the values of the community. A constitutional republic protects individuals from government, that's why the democrats(socialists and communists) have been attacking the constitution, weakening it when ever possible through the courts. Perfect example the governor's who have extended or enacted stay at home orders when those actions were either not required or needed. It is for the left, the ultimate test of the GREEN NEW DEAL.
Control public assembly and speech.
Government says who can work and when and how.
Where and when you can travel.
The individual citizen isn't smart enough to "protect" themselves, only the government can that's what democrats believe. Whether from disease or criminal activities the government is the savior. The real answer is elect representatives that will represent you while following their oath of office.
