Marketing help/advice - NOTE: READ ENTIRE THREAD B4 POSTING COMMENTS!

Re: Marketing help/advice

From now on, I mainly will respond to any questions or posts good enough to deserve a response (like the previous) by PM - the mindless mob obviously rules here. Too bad. :(

Some "ideas" for you...Adjustable height (not everyone sits in a chair), Thicker 2" minimum thickness top ( 1" top will not hold up over time)with steel backing plates for press mounts (pre-drilled), Top MUST be 100% flat (NO GAPS OR RIDGES). Bottom braces (also doubles as a footrest for those of us that use stools rather than chairs), Electric outlet for scale or light. Floor plates or brackets (to fasten legs to floor). You can build a 10' bench with all these features for about $110. If YOU purchase in larger quantity I'm sure that cost would be considerably less.

Alrerady thought of everything you've mentioned - a higher model is available (about 34") - nice thing about wood - height can easily be changed OR they can be fastened to floor easily IF needed.

Uh, I already mentioned a 2" thick top option a few pages ago!

Outlets and lights can be added by user or may be added as options later on. Price can come down in quantities - this has been thought through very thoroughly.
All optional right? So more expensive. Please explain why I should PAY MORE for these options when I'm already paying less (about a 1/3 less) for a bench that is at least 3X the size and consideralby stronger than the one your trying to market.

Had to respond to this - the fallacy in your thinking is easy to see. As a courtesy, if you wish to remove your comment (to save embarrasment) I will remove this post.

I would try a lawyer first to get it patented if it something really unusual and then when it is pateted you can approach companys all over the USA and show them the product and take orders and you can advertise in magazines with certainty to selling this product.
Till you get patented you don't have a product. The next best thing is to find someone with money a flood the market. Larry

Does this bench have a liqueur drawer?

Comments such as this make it obvious that many here are only interested in lowering the discussion to mindless, mob derision. I would hope you have better things to do with your time.

And some complain how long this thread is - well then quit posting insulting, mindless comments or asking the same questions that have already been answered!

Guess they don't listen well either - 11 more posts after this one just stretching it out!

Nope, I'm kicking back and spending time with the kids on their spring break. This "Marketing Advice" post seams to be for entertainment only, Because the OP already has all the answers and everything figured out. It should have been titled, " Look at my Bench that I have been working on for 20 yrs and have everything figured out and don't need your advice".

Picture removed to protect the idea from copycats.

I really grow tired of wasting time answering so many questions and making this thread any longer - serious inquiries or good questions, PM me.
Kinda like buying the exclusive rights and property of the Edsel Corp. so that nobody else can produce the unmarketable product associated to them.
I tried PM'ing but your box is full ::)

And after 20 years in the making, you have yet to convince anyone to invest in your product ???

But BTW, an investor is not absolutely necessary - it just could make things a bit easier and speed things up.
It's quite possible the Shooting World just isn't ready for such an advanced product . Maybe in a couple years things will change and you can say I told you so, till then I'll be quite confident in the QUALITY and STRENGTH of the benches I have.
