MagnetoSpeed Chronogrph

As I understand it, the sensor platform causes the bullet to move away from it. Somewhere I read that someone mounted it on it's side & on top of the barrel and POI always moved away from the sensors. But my POI definitely did NOT move 1 MOA up. In fact, it appeared to move down about .25 MOA.

I have a Shooting Chrony - Beta Master model - that I will give away (FREE) to someone that will buy the tripod that I used with it for $50. ;)

I'm hoping for maybe 20. I'm thinking about keeping it on when I shoot groundhogs next summer in Ohio. I may have to rig a 6 volt lantern battery to keep the voltage up over several hours. 20 shots should be plenty as more than that would be a very exceptional day of groundhog hunting.

Bill, I'd email them with your question. I found their customer service and email responses outstanding. Hog

At least 10. I forgot to archive a five shot string & it recorded the next string.

Ditto, I forgot to reset and have a 25 shot string ( two different guns with an ES of 957 !!!...22hornet and 22-250)

I'm usually good with a 20 shot string. But I think as long as you keep shooting, the Magnetospeed keeps recording the shots. I suppose at some point eventually you would use up the memory on the unit, but I'm guessing you'll run out of bullets long before that.

I didn't ask as I transfer the info to my computer when I get to 10 strings. Then I clear the SD card.
But I am sure it is a WHOLE bunch.

anyone tested the different settings of the custom set up? Like if you set it at level 6 then 4? Was wandering how you know when you are on the right setting to read the best if you have to use this feature

Not sure but I believe it is the sensitivity to pick up the bullet passing over the magnets. I had an early version and had to change the settings to get a reading on my 17HMR. When set on the Rimfire selection, it didn't record. Eventually it stopped working and I sent it back. They replaced the LED/computer unit and the menu changed. Maybe the software changed also, don't know. I have used the new unit with 17hmr, rifle and hangun; rifles in 17hm2, 6br, .22 rimfire; .223 and .20 practical in an AR platform and a couple other rifles for demos and it has functioned flawlessly on the standard settings.

I had to change the sensitivity on the custom trigger menu to get mine to read bullets coming out of a 24" bull barreled AR. I started adjusting those numbers one step at a time and finally it started reading like it should.
When set at the normal setting it wouldn't read anything out of this AR but It would read everything else just fine, with the exception of another AR with a muzzle brake and or flash hider, I couldn't get a reading on them.
