This is going to be interesting. Lyman makes good products . I would buy one pending reviews.
I respectfually disagree; I've had some REAL STINKERS from Lyman.
Their AUTOSCALE automatic powder dispenser? Rated +/- 0.1 grain; the one I got was +/- ONE grain after lots of tweaking from Lyman support. I sent it back and
most gladly ate the 10% restock fee. Could YOU live with that?
I have a Lyman "Mag Tumbler" that was exchanged for an earlier weak cheese model wherin the plastic "base plate" broke about the fifth time I used it.
When the injection molded plastic base (the mechanical plastic interface between the bowl on top, the suspension on the bottom), on the new "MAG TUMBLER" cracked, I sent THAT base back to Lyman; they din't even recognize the product, and of course, had not a replacement for the POS (Piece of S**T) base.
Can you imagine a company like this NOT RECOGNIZING ONE OF THEIR PRODUCTS? With their LOGO on it?
Thankfully I had scanned in the broken base with a ruler for reference before sending the base back to the factory. I printed the scan (adjusted to 100%, which you don't always get with this kind of procedure.) I got a piece of 1" thick MDF cut into modestly rough circle of the base plate diameter. I proceed to drill the thru and thru/countersunk holes on a drill press (you could do it with a hand drill if careful) and reassembled the unit. Runs like a top, no thanks to Lyman after BOTH tumbler products failed.
Why don't the fools that Lyman buy these products from recongnize that a plastic base plate for a tumbler is truly awful to engineer this product?
If the Lyman fools had their stuff packed tighter, and if they really gave a S**T about their customers, they could have made me this replacement part in MDF for about a 40 minute effort on the FIRST unit, and perhaps 20 seconds thereafter if properly setup -- it would NEVER BREAK AGAIN !
Instead they said, "We don't have any of those." With "ROTSA RUCK" implied.
I now buy LYMAN products with caution.
