Looking for feedback - 308 win, 125 gr deer load

I use that 125 grain bullet in my 30-30 carbine. Sighted 3 inches high at 100 yards, it is zeroed for 200 yards. Not bad for a so-called brush gun. I load it one in the chamber and one in the tube magazine. Jack

I’m back.

I did a 200y ladder test with both Nosler 125’s and Barnes TSX 130 gr. My gun liked the 130’s better. I did another ladder test at 300y and then made some ammo for groups shooting today

I loaded with Win 748 and Federal primers.

I had 2 of 3 touching in the 1” bull and pulled my last shot for that charge. I got 1.085” including the pull and 0.228” dropping the pulled shot. This was using a charge of 50.2 gr. I averaged 2914 FPS and a SD of 10.54

Had in my mind a less accurate 3 shot group, but the second most accurate group at a charge of 50.6 gr 1.080” averaging 2,956 FPS and a SD of 5.7.

I think I could shoot a tighter group with 50.2 gr but the data says 50.6 is the winner. Thoughts?

Is there a specific reason you want to use such a light bullet?
Kinda like me here in South Texas hunting whatever I pull the trigger on. I shoot both the Nosler and the Hornady SST 125’s out of my 30/378 Weatherby with a 13” twist Bartlein barrel. 4,130 fps!! And if I get a little spunky, Just like the man said, the 130 will be just great. Now, how many of you people that shoot standard velocity have ever wittinessed hydro static shock?? When things just blow up?? From internal parts and body fluids?? Come on down and see a skinny old fart. The 22’s and the 30’s both can make magic tricks!!

I've seen that kind of internal damage by using bergers, hornady eldm and sierra tmk on whitetail. Not pushing them anywhere near those speeds.
