so i just got my new barrel put on last week. i will be shooting 300 yards max . so is a 125 grain bullet in a 1 in 12 twist a bad idea ? really the only flat base bullets out there for 308 . i wanted 150 gr FB, but theres not many options out there .

Speer makes a 125 gr TNT and Sierra makes a 150 gr Match King.

Both good shooting bullets.

Have shot both in a 12 twist bbl and they are very accurate.

Try both of them over Varget.

I have shot a lot of the Sierra 125 grain Pro Hunter bullets in competition in the M14 with a 1 in 12 twist barrel at 100 and 200 yards. It is a little easier to shoot the M14 with less recoil. I got almost as good accuracy with them as with the 168 grain Sierria Match Kings as long as the wind was not too bad. I used the same load as for the 168 SMK, LC brass, 41 grains of IMR 4895, standard primer and the bullet jump was more like a short walk.
