I gotta get myself a nice rimfire with a nice scope. All my .22LR's have open sights. :-[
queen_stick said:K0na ... don't let that stop you! I have a Henry lever action with open sights. I shoot at clay birds at about 175 ~ 180 yards, and hit them fairly consistently. I don't shoot that gun off the bench... only off-hand (and I'm pretty bad at shooting off-hand!). The tricky part is getting your holdover consistent. One way around that, is to simply adjust the iron sights to zero at whatever your distance you're shooting (if they adjust that far). The only downside (if you want to call it that), is that shooting long-range with your 22 doesn't get old... you'll go through A LOT of rounds! Make sure you take someone with you, so they can spot for you with a scope.
