Liberty Safe -- Issue with Access Codes

If the FBI didn't have the code, but had the search warrant that included the safe, are they allowed to break in to the safe? I believe they can, they were getting in that safe one way or the other.

If Liberty didn't provide the combination, would they leave the safe unopened if it was included in the search warrant? IMO, there's zero chance of that.

If it wasn't included in the search warrant, then I see a much larger issue.

Apple devices.
But the FBI eventually reported they cracked that phone without Apple's help if I'm not mistaken.

Edit: They used a password guesser so not exactly a crack. Hasn't Apple addressed a setting as to how many attempts can be made before it locks out? I think I recall you can do that. I'll have to look later.

The police had a search warrant and provided the warrant to liberty safe. Had they not complied they would have broken the law and lost their business license.
The search warrant is for the premises that the safe is
Not liberty manufacturing . Liberty voluntarily gave the combo, if they had said no they would have had to get a court order to provide the combo or a search warrant to search liberty’s records for it.
That said tge FBI would have been within their rights to cut/pry it open.
Sadly this is not the only instance of Libery being a crappy company
In 2016 South LA experienced record flooding and a lot of gun safes went under
Cannon replaced them under warranty and sent a locksmith to your location at no charge to open the old safe
Liberty not only did not cover them
They refused to tell homeowners or licensed locksmiths not under contract with them where to drill to open the safe. You had to spend $300 for one of their locksmiths to come open it.

Good day,

I buy cheap safes I can move. Paying exorbitant amounts for fire protection, cracking resistant times, and the gegaws the safe manufactures want to use to increase profit margins aren't worth it.

If a safe won't do it, get a vault and build apropriately. Even that won't protect megabuck collections, the return on the dollar was terrible.

HTH,

I have a Browning safe that I bought maybe 35+ years ago. It says “Browning ProSteel”.
It was expensive then is all I recall. Dark brown with pinstripes. Bought it new.
Anyone know who may have been the manufacturer? Is it a decent safe? Is it time for replacement? Sure won’t be a Liberty.
And what’s with manufacturers supplying combinations to the FBI? Is that another law?
They have my washing machine serial number?
What’s the cost of keeping these records?
I can’t forget Ruby Ridge or Waco. These people have my safe combo?
