One more item in the email I received from Browning Rick.

If the replacement lock came from them, once the bolt retracts, the dial should stop on or close to the number 95.

Try this:

Turn the dial to the LEFT stopping on the number the FOURTH time around.
Turn the dial to the RIGHT stopping on the number the THIRD time around.
Turn the dial to the LEFT stopping on the number the SECOND time around.
SLOWLY turn the dial to the right until the bolt retracts.

FWIW - I have a Diebold safe that I purchased and had a combination set that I can't forget. My wife and I use the safe periodically but not often.
Eventually, I could no longer open the safe but my wife could. ??
I even had her stand over my shoulder and watch me attempt to open it; no luck.
I still can not open my own safe but my wife still can. It almost seems like it has something to do with her cadence, not sure.

I would certainly ask someone else to open a safe when the combination is known, as someone else suggested.
