Lets talk about your bag (rear bag that is).

Like a lot of guys, I've gone thru rear bags like crazy, trying to find one that I'm happy with. I've been shooting off Lenzi bags for the last several seasons and really like them. They are the straightest rear bags I've used and that is the main reason I like them. My rifles track insanely well in the Lenzi bags. I also like how durable they seem to be. A few seasons doesn't really give a complete story, but the bags still look great.

I started on my bag journey with a Seb big foot 1/2" wide between the ears as the stock I had on my dasher was suited to bench rest. This served me well for 12 months. Then I started shooting f class open with a 284 where the stock was 3/4" wide and flat on the bottom so I went with a Seb big foot 3/4 wide bag slick silver ears. The stock was a pretty standard width, where the ears made contact with the sides, worked quite well and was suited to this type of bag. But I have to say even when filled with heavy sand the top of the bag between the ears seemed to be too springy for my liking so I bit the bullet and bought a Lenzi rear bag and wow the difference was like night and day. Incredibly stable! This was due to the inbuilt doughnut at the base of bag which seemed to suck down on my rear plate and the stitching is triple stitched between the ears, eliminating the spring I was getting with the Seb. I recently upgraded my stocks, which are now about 56mm wide across the centre on the butt (I would guess similar to a cerus) which was too wide for the Lenzi. So my next bag I went with the protektor flat base long range bag which is beautifully made as well and was also triple stitched between the ears this bag also come with an inbuilt doughnut into the base of the bag which helps immensely with stability. So I suggest that when shopping for a rear bag the most important thing is to match it with the type of stock you have.

Exactly what I've been working on!!
