slowly piecing my new 6.5x47 L together. I tried my hand at cerakote with a bolt gun this time. So far it turned out nice, the colors don't match though

Nice. The browns match for me, but "they" say 6 out of 10 men are color blind, and the rest just dress that way.

Here's the 6.5L all done. It did ok today, those cci 450's gave me a fit but the BR's dialed it in.

New Deer rifle this year. Nesika Long Range rifle in 7mm Rem Mag with 4-14x56 Nightforce Illuminated reticle MOA. Shoots .5" groups with 140 gr Nosler BT over 70gr RL-22 for 3165fps.

I think the Nesika is a bargain at 2600.00 from Buds guns in Lexington Ky. It uses, of course, a Nesika action, Douglas Air Gauged barrel 26" fluted. Has a timney trigger and bell and Carlson stock. I know .5" groups are not great in todays custom rifles but in 7mm rem mag that's doing pretty darn good! If I had a higher power scope I could do a little better but I think it will work good out to 500-600 yds on deer. I have a marlin 450 I will use if I am woods hunting.

Two new rifles

Remington 700 short action. Action has been squared and trued, luggs lapped with sako extractor installed and bolt helical flutted. Recoil lug is pinned. Kreiger 26" varmint taper with 8" and helical flutting .269 neck 6mm-284. McMillian A3 stock. Factory remington trigger job. Weaver 20 MOA base, Vortex Precision Rings and Vortex HST 4-16x44 VMR-1.

Savage 110 long action, oversized custom recoil lug. Shaw Varmint barrel 26" 8 Twist 6.5-06. Factory trigger job and stock paint and some inletting work performed by yours truly. Weaver bases, Burris Signature Zee Rings with 20MOA. Nikon Buckmaster 6-18.

Both shoot great and should put the hurt on chucks this spring.

Bagged a doe opening day with my new Nesika long range rifle at 250 yds! Love this new rifle. Hopefully I will bag a buck still have 6 days left to hunt! Also would like to say the deer lift and carrier I bought for my atv worked like a champ uses winch to lift deer up onto front rack.
