New Creedmoor

Dan Hall

Gold $$ Contributor
Decided to build a new 6.5 Creedmoor a while back. It took 15 months to get it all ordered and done. Starting to see results now. Shot this group yesterday while hunting for a load with 140 A Maxs. It doesn't take much looking with the Creedmoor though.

All the work was done by a new, to me, gunsmith. What can I say, I would definitely recommend him to anyone at this point. Tommy Shurley of Shurley Brothers did the work of putting it together. Bat model B chrome moly action with integral recoil lug for switch barrel purposes. Shilen select match 1-8 twist 26" barrel, Richard Franklin # 10 stock in 3 part laminate, Jewell with Leupold 6.5-20x40 LR scope with MK IV turrets and Leupold dot.

Are you reloading for your gun and if so what kind of luck are you having with your reloads?

That stock is gorgeous,I am assuming it was made at shurley bros?

Actually I have had that stock for awhile. Bought it from a guy that was going to do a build and changed his mind. This stock was cut by Richard Franklin before he sold his business to Tommy. It's a maple/walnut /maple. The walnut layer between is very thin and dark compared to the light outer layers of maple.
I'm looking forward to screwing on a fast twist 220 swift barrel as well. The options are almost endless.

Dan, all I shoot are reloads and I've found the Creedmoor is pretty easy to find a good load for. H4350 and 140VLD's are my fav so far.
