Let's See your New for 2015 Rigs

Looks like this thread is slowing down and I KNOW there are more rigs to be seen. This is my Dakota Predator in 6BR in a Montana prairie dog town

Another Dakota Predator in 20 Vartarg.

Great looking Dakota and bet she shoots better than she looks.

My addition for this year is:

CZ 527 that started as a 7.62X39 carbine and now wears a straight fluted 22 inch Obermeyer 1:8.4 barrel, chambered with SAAMI spec 6.5 Grendel reamer. Action blue printed and squared with the barrel. Factory stock was used but is now glass and pillar bedded with the barrel channel opened up to get rid of the cutouts for the rear sight, the barrel is profiled to fit the new channel contour and free floated the entire length. Scope mount is a DIP products 25 moa rail . I wanted a light weight hunting rifle and this one fits the bill nicely.

Just getting started working up loads for it, this target is from the first trip to the range with all loads in new Lapua brass and Berger hybrid 130 gr bullets.

All groups except the bottom right are 3 shot groups with 2 from the 30gr load. The bottom right is 7 shots and I knew I messed up shot 5 of those 7. Also pulled shot 2 of the ones to the left of that one. I haven't shot but once before that trip to the range since early November so out of 22 shots after sighting in I guess only calling 2 fliers on myself isn't too bad.

I have a couple that are new for this year's varmint fields.
One is a Cooper 220 Swift Jackson Game that I custom ordered. I wanted a lighter rifle, I have carried the heavy monsters for too many years. I put a Weaver Grand Slam 6x - 20x on it and it is shooting pretty good.
The other is new to me, I traded into it. It is also a Cooper, a varmint model, 223 AI. I will use it in place of my 222 rem, where I need to keep the noise down. It is wearing a 6.5x- 20x Zeiss Conquest.
Both rifles have already seen some action this spring!

Good shooting,
Gary

my newest varmint slayer-to-be is a slightly modified 6X47 based on the 222 rem mag case. i have a 6X45 13.5 tw shooting 60-66 gr bullets into small holes, but i couldn't get the speed i wanted...3500+ i looked at the 6-223AI which is a 6 TCU but was advised the gained speed was minimal. rodney wagner suggested a 6X47 for it's accuracy and additional speed...it was once the benchrest cartridge until the 6 PPC appeared. i had a reamer made by JGS(suggested by many here and no question, perfect service. i had a modified and returned reamer print in THREE days!). sent the print to whidden gunworks for custom dies and gathered the brass(hard to find but bought them off the market place). kreiger 13.5 tw,stiller predator V, jewell, shurley bros, sightron asorted powders and light bullets and it was born last week. have two shooting sessions and the accuracy is what i expected . am currently working with different powders to find the one that gives me the velocity i believe i can get...3500+ with 60-63 gr bullets.

Well, I tried LT30 powder with the 62 euwins and found a load that got 3500 fps with light bolt lift and a small hole. However, the 222 rem brass is not lapua 6 br brass and can't take the high pressure...1/4 has a very loose primer pocket and 1/4 is a bit loose, the other 2/4 are OK. This brass is hard to find, so I will back the load down and be happy with 3450 fps...ghogs can't tell the difference. BTW, I'm impressed with LT30's temp stability as air temps were 80-94°. The same charge as LT32 gets 90-100 fps more in the 6x47 R...not sure in other cases.

this is mine i just picked it up on Thursday last , trued rem 700 long action

B&CM40 , Jewell trigger , bigger bolt knob , over size recoil lug , threaded

muzzle MADDCO SENDERO profile barrel in 260R .

cheers
