Perhaps a foolish question, but ...

The "Ukraine situation" could mean a lot of things.

Are Lapua's Finland-based production facilities and metals/minerals raw materials supplies threatened? Does Lapua have facilities in Ukraine that are threatened or disrupted? Or is this just due to Russia behaving as an acquisitive Stalinist state again?

This just makes it official. Finland has said several months ago that it was directing its resources to defend itself should Russia show aggression and or they felt the need. Very sad but true, it appears.

This just forces us all to do the right thing and buy American. It's not like before when Lapua was the only option. With Peterson, ADG, Starline and the others there are options.

No doubt there are some good American manufactures of brass out there. I will be glad to try them if necessary. But I have enough Lapua on hand and the stuff I have been shooting for years I just can’t seem to wear out. 6.5x47 & 6BR formed to BRA. It’s just that good! At 61 years of age, what I have, it will outlast me.

I guess I should've bought all the Lapua 6.5 and 300 PRC brass from Scheels last time I was in $149 per 100.

Was like that a few years ago. 6BR was non existent. Got on a bunch of back order lists. When things opened up again, I had 6BR Lapua coming out of my ears.
Sold a bunch of it for what I paid, + shipping and maybe $5.00 extra.
Folks were glad to get it.
Some folks were high balling ($$$) everybody and loosing friends left and right. If you can't screw your fellow shooters, who can you screw?

Never really approached it as ‘ doing the right thing’
I never found the Lapua I’ve used to make any difference. Once Peterson was on the scene they became my number one choice. Feel the same way about Varget. They’ve had a number of shortages and I’ve found better and cleaner powders.

Ive not bought any brass since the high end American brass has hit the market. But i have a rifle in the works and I will buy from the new makers as Lapua has never made RUM brass.
