I have used BOTH the Lapua .260 L/R primers and the Palma brass in my .260A.I.s I have had. I just tried the Peterson S/R primer .260 brass. It fireforms very well and one other thing>>>it's INTERNAL CASE VOLUME is "about" 1.75 to 2.0 grs. LESS than the Lapua Palma. However, durability, at least for the little I have used them, seems on par with the Lapua brass. It is definitely worthy of a real try!For any of you shooters that have tried these 2 brands side by side in .260, what's your opinion of performance difference and consistency if any?
Thanks much
thicker brass maybe, its a question, your opinion,,INTERNAL CASE VOLUME is "about" 1.75 to 2.0 grs. LESS
I believe the case head is a bit more stout on the Peterson brass. I ran the pressures up, prior to figuring out the case capacity is somewhat less. Even though I got quite high, the primer pockets are still extremely tight..thicker brass maybe, its a question, your opinion,,

I'm with you. I have recently switched to Peterson after measuring a random sample taken from 100 .260 Rem cases I recently ordered. I found Peterson's consistency to be every bit the equal of Lapua, if not marginally better. I'm not yet done fire forming to my Ackley chamber (shhhhh .... don't tell them!) so I have no observations with respect to durability but I don't think I'll be disappointed. It looks, feels and measures like really, really good stuff.+1 For two US Companies stepping up to the plate. gona get my money.
The Peterson .260 brass is just a whisker thicker at the neck than the Lapua. Maybe .0005 thicker, but very consistent. I skim turn anyway, so it makes no difference to me.Are the neck thicknesses with Peterson or Alpha the same as Lapua?

Most welcome. Thanks for the comeback. I may give it a try. I’ve been curious about running their SRP brass in my 260.
