LAPUA OR PETERSON IN .26O?

For any of you shooters that have tried these 2 brands side by side in .260, what's your opinion of performance difference and consistency if any?
Thanks much

I have used BOTH the Lapua .260 L/R primers and the Palma brass in my .260A.I.s I have had. I just tried the Peterson S/R primer .260 brass. It fireforms very well and one other thing>>>it's INTERNAL CASE VOLUME is "about" 1.75 to 2.0 grs. LESS than the Lapua Palma. However, durability, at least for the little I have used them, seems on par with the Lapua brass. It is definitely worthy of a real try!

Agreed re the case volume....

I was shocked, shocked when I loaded some 6.5 Creedmoor Hornady brass with RL26 and realized how much more case capactiy they had over the Peterson and Lapua.

I've got 200 pcs of Lapua, 200 of Peterson and 100 Hornady 6.5CM brass, and have found the Peterson to be excellent to work with.

I've used both Lapua and Alpha. It's a huge thing to say, but Alpha is producing a Lapua-quality product. They're also producing in Small Primer, which is nice for longevity and/or pressure. I shoot Alpha, if I'm gonna spend $1/pc I'm sending the money to a US company.

+1 For two US Companies stepping up to the plate. gona get my money.
I'm with you. I have recently switched to Peterson after measuring a random sample taken from 100 .260 Rem cases I recently ordered. I found Peterson's consistency to be every bit the equal of Lapua, if not marginally better. I'm not yet done fire forming to my Ackley chamber (shhhhh .... don't tell them!) so I have no observations with respect to durability but I don't think I'll be disappointed. It looks, feels and measures like really, really good stuff.

I don't think I'll ever run out of .308 brass, but I'll be switching to Peterson for .243 and 7-08 as well. I hope they come out with .22-.250 brass soon.

Are the neck thicknesses with Peterson or Alpha the same as Lapua?
The Peterson .260 brass is just a whisker thicker at the neck than the Lapua. Maybe .0005 thicker, but very consistent. I skim turn anyway, so it makes no difference to me.

I've bought Peterson brass for my 260 Rem F-Class rifle. It's sure on the same level with Lapua and for me, as a European, is it a bit exotic brand... So no one else on the firing line has the same brass :D
Oh, and I paid here the same price as for Lapua.

Thanks for the comeback. I may give it a try. I’ve been curious about running their SRP brass in my 260.

Most welcome.

FWIW, I'm using the LR brass. I've had excellent results with the Sellier & Bellot large rifle primers and RL-23 in the .260 AI and I wanted to keep that combination going. I've had no problems at all with pockets loosening with the Lapua brass and I expect the Peterson to hold up similarly. Don't know for sure yet, since I'm fire forming.

I have 200 Lapua Cases in 100 case lots in 260 which I have I have split between 130gn pils used PRS and 140gn pils for F-class.

I just looked at Peterson and they are a comparable price to Lapua, even here is Australia. Will give them a go I think.
