Peterson 260 brass weight?

I was wondering if anyone had any Peterson 260 brass and what it weighed? I'm getting ready to buy a new batch of brass and debating between Lapua and Peterson. I've heard Peterson is a decent amount heavier than other brands and loads need adjusted accordingly.

I have some I can measure for you this evening. On their website they have the average weights listed and also state that it is heavier and thicker than lapua. They also state this in their packaging and say that you should start at least 1 powder grain lower than your lapua loads. I can take pics of that and post it this evening as well.

Owning both, and shooting both, I have decided to make the switch to Peterson for all products that they offer.

Thank you. I would really appreciate that if you could. Do you know where on their site that they list the average weight? I tried finding it but couldn't.

Thank you for the links. I see where it says its heavier and thicker than Lapua and how load data will need changed but I still don't see the average weight for each caliber. I'm just trying to find out how much heavier than my Lapua and Remington brass.

I just weighed five Peterson .260 cases and they averaged 178.4 grains - all were very close to one another. These cases have been primed, so subtract about 5.5 grains for the primer. About 173 grains would be a working figure for your purposes.

Virgin/bulk/Unprimed/unfired Peterson measured 174.8-176.2 (10 cases)
10 Primed/trimmed lapua measured 175.0-178.2 but there is carbon inside(10x fired necked down 308)

You can buy weight sorted Peterson and they will be a little closer according to their web page.

I did measure necked down Winchester/Remington/ hornady. They were all 10-15 grains of spread encompassing the ranges above, but mostly less. Hornady match was 171.0 for five cases... to bad it only lasts 2-3 firings.

Thank you. My Lapua weighs 173-174 and my Remington weighs 159-164, so it should be real close to the Lapua. I'll definitely try Peterson this time. I've read a lot of good things about them.

Peterson is great brass but heavy. My 6.5 creedmore brass i went with norma because it is the lightest. Allows two more grains of ball powder to fill it to the top, than Peterson. I always like norma brass also.
