Lapua 6GT brass

I will once I load some up. I need to get a rebarrel organised now.

I'm in sunny England, I just happened to see some in stock and got it ordered. I had some on backorder from the importer but hadn't even heard back back from them. Just gathering all the components before getting a new barrel.
“Sunny” Pommy Land….??? Almost sounds like a Furphy… ;)

I've seen another UK retailer with 9x100 in stock so it's starting to appear in Europe. I would expect it should be in the US before long. I think it will generate more interest in 6GT over once more widely available.

I seriously doubt it makes the 6GT surge here in the US. People here are nuts about Alpha for some reason so the market is pretty saturated. I’ve personally never had a batch of Alpha that I thought was great. Better than most, but sure not Lapua. While I’m tired of being misled, Lapua still makes better brass. I got Peterson for my GT though. I wasn’t waiting any longer, and I was really fed up with them not providing case specs even after you had your brass IN HAND.

Yes you've got to go with what you can get. Over here Alpha and Peterson is hard to get and more expensive than Lapua. Everything is still really expensive though. It's hard to get the opportunity to shoot fullbore more than once a month but at current prices I'd have to think about it to shoot more than that. I also do some shotgun, RF and pistol calibre stuff too.

for the cost of lapua, the could do better than the paper box. what happened to the plastic they used to have?
I had a discussion with them before the change. A lot of cases were getting battered when the dealers were posting the boxes out so they changed packaging. The cardboard is probably cheaper and helps their eco credentials. I would have just put some foam in the plastic boxes to stop them rattling around.

Also helps their bottom line to not include the extra brass in each box anymore. Often one, sometimes two, extras in each box multiplied thousands of times across their entire production was money that could be saved.

That should work great for my smiths reamer also. I think he uses GAPs with a .273"

Actually this is what he sent me when I asked about what 6 GT reamer he uses. Anything of concern here shooting 105-108s? Either going to use Lapua or Peterson brass, whichever works better with the reamer and which is available.

Stopped by a local shop this afternoon who is a Capeco distributor as well as a Peterson distributor. He doesn't have either in 6 GT yet. And doesn't know exactly when he suppose to be getting either either. I told him I seen some floating around the UK and YouTube but that's it.

.01283 per side according to that video.

Or just shy of .269 loaded. A pretty great fit for a Manson no turn.

Do you happen to know what a loaded neck is for Peterson brass?

Edit: I found it on Petersons website. 269" or 270" depending on the 2 lots they ran.

Yea and that’s at the case mouth. Mine are .2683 around the pressure ring and .269 at the mouth, which will blow out to “we will see.”

They were .2683 after prep on the ones I did mess with. All I’m going to do is run a .240 mandrel and fireform them then I’ll do the normal prep.
