NY Attorney General vs NRA

TM winds A blind man can see that. I am asking why the group that clams to know all about our gun rights and how to protect them and writes a couple of articles every month in the American Rifleman didn't see NY as being hostile the very people who are supposed to be watching out for us and our rights.

Ya think with salary and benefits in the millions he just might have a Tax Attorney on his payroll? Wait until he's convicted before passing judgement. After all, the NY Att Gen. is building a career changing event for herself. Bet she donates to BLM.
Probably. Hope he/she is a good one. Was not passing judgement. Just speculating on a possible charge. The way this guy has used the NRA as an ATM is indefensible. Half a mil to go to the Bahamas? Seems legit.

“..........charges the organization with illegal conduct because of their diversion of millions of dollars away from the charitable mission of the organization for personal use by senior leadership, awarding contracts to the financial gain of close associates and family, and appearing to dole out lucrative no-show contracts to former employees in order to buy their silence and continued loyalty........”

Hum...........sounds just like Congress, doesn’t it? :D

Straight from the horses mouth. The Wayne and company have rode the NRA into the ground. It’s very likely that the NRA will be disbanded. Other organizations have been doing the fighting for years now while Wayne and company have looted the NRA and fleeced gun owners. I quit throwing away money on the NRA going back the the Heller case. I give to GOA now. Hopefully Wayne and company will spend the rest of their lives rotting in prison. Wayne won’t need $150,000 suits where he belongs.
+1 for the GOA

I wish I could answer that question. I can only say that money and power breeds greed and corruption. It is my hope that the NRA can survive this ordeal and with new leadership it will be able to rise from the ashes and make the NRA the organization that it once was years ago. I understand that it will be a struggle. Our leadership has failed us but let's not burn the ship to rid the rats.

When I was working with (for) some ridiculously wealthy business men, one of them told me " if you're
buying influence, you're buying coke and hookers". I will let you figure out why those trips cost so much.

wayne will not weather this storm he will be gone soon myself i'll stay on ship

IF, and I say IF, Wayne is guilty of any of the charges laid, doesn't it seem extreme to attempt to disband a 5 million member organization as a desired outcome? Again, IF he is guilty, prosecute HIM, not the 5 million members of America's oldest Civil Rights Organization.

This seems akin to putting an entire extended family in jail when one idiot son commits a crime.

I think that this is a political move, pure and simple, to put the NY AG (no friend of ours) on the map. Might just backfire.

If by some chance they go tittays up, what would become of their assets like the Whittington Center, any firearms, etc.? Some rich dude has to be licking his chops at the prospect of buying real estate near Raton.

I can't find it now, but I read somewhere that should the NRA be disbanded that by law all of its assets would have to go to other non-profits with the same mission - other pro 2A groups.

It draws rich and powerful people to you and then you can get what you want from them.

I wonder who Ollie North is talking to now ?? You can bet
he still has a bad taste in his mouth from the ousting not
long ago.....All I can say fellas is; This is more then a popcorn
moment !! Wings and beer I think, with a side of, kick him
in the nuts.

For those that did'nt know, Wayne was never a gun guy.

The NRA is you number one defense against gun haters, why do you think the democrats are always so angry with the NRA, because they are powerful and stand in the way of them passing stupid gun laws. Unfortunately, sometimes, with power comes greed, and if this is true, the NRA needs to get its act together, nothing wrong with being well compensated for what you do, but when it's excessive and with money donated to a cause, that is shameful.

No one tried to disband the Obama administration because he took Air Force one to New York for date night with his wife, cost the tax payers several million, but the liberals were just giddy about it. Obama played golf, a lot of golf, took trips to Hawaii to visit the family, all types of expensive personal stuff that cost the tax payers millions and millions throughout his terms, where was the outrage from the New York AG's office?

Sounds like we better stick together in the biggest ways possible. Who's the next leading pro gun group?

This divide a conquer thing is getting outta hand!

I do not think they have any standing in the issue. The money spent by the NRA is between it's management and it's members. It's not so different from all large corporations. The CEO gets a lot of perks. Would you rather our leader be able to rub shoulders with powerbrokers or walk around in rags and sit in a closet?
This is pure politics and there will be repercussions.

I believe abuse is key.
We don't need to give anybody any more tools with which to pick us apart. Looks like an opportunity to deface us and they will jump on it.

I still think the NRA could still be cleaned up but it needs to be very fast, Wayne Lapierre has to step down for someone with better morals and focus.
