Jewell trigger help

I was trying to install my jewell trigger on my BAT M.
the trigger is a HVRS_A bottom safety. the trigger is on the hanger one pin was a tight fit. The trigger seems cocked. And even removing the safety the trigger shoe wont move. When i put it in the gun it either wont open or wont close.

no trigger was already cocked before it went in and the trigger wouldnt do anything. Im wondering if someone didnt adjust it at brunos. Like remover all the overtravel or pretravel till it didnt work

Ive seen that before but i doubt brunos did it. Im sure they never took it out of the pkg

The triggers come pre-set from Jewell to the vendor
at a requested pull weight, so there would be no reason
for any adjustment until installed in the buyers' rifle.

Is there any reason to adjust anything other than pull weight after installation. I recently installed a Jewell HVR on a Remington 700 [the fit was a tad tight, but no other issues] and used the adjustment procedure given in the manual.


So cocking the action and turning screw 1 in until it fires. I met resistance and it never did fire. Not wanting to force it and strip/round out the little hex head screw I just backed it out some and left it. I don't think the safety was on or it wouldn't have or at least shouldn't have cocked. So should I have left well enough alone and just set the trigger pull? I have not shot the rifle yet, but when adjusting pull weight [2.5-3#] I didn't notice anything like slam-fires. FWIW I have at least 1 Rem 700 purchased in 1975 or so where you can open the bolt with the safety on or off.

If you run into the overtravel stop yes.

Lester sell them. Doesn't adjust them, That is a fact..

Back in the day, when I took orders by ph, I would have
customers request their trigger to be set at a specific pull weight. My response would be, the trigger will have to be installed in your rifle to be adjusted per your request.
A vendor would have no reason to remove the trigger from the package. LDS
