Little concern about my Jewell?

I am in the midst of putting together my first custom build! The original plan was to use my 700 SA and so i purchased a Jewell Trigger with Top safety and Bottom Bolt Release. Since then i have picked up a Stiller Tac 30 (well actually wont be here for another week), and a buddy told me because the stiller has a side bolt release that trigger wont fit properly? To me that seems ridiculous as it should fit fine still just the bottom bolt release wont work which isn't a concern to me. I just want to double check,

Matt

I have a couple of Stiller Predator actions that I use Jewells with. I bought the Jewells without the bolt release and they work great. If I recall correctly the bolt release on the Jewell is easy to remove.

The bolt release is held on by 2 pins. I removed the bolt release by removing one pin at a time and replacing the bolt release with a stainless washer. I don't know that the washers are necessary since the pins are held in place by a c-clip but the washers do maintain the original spacing of the pins. The trigger works fine.

You can do what Cort states. Or contact Jewell they will fix it for you about 3-5 week turn around.

You can leave your bolt release in place, it interferes
w/nothing. Someday you may need this same trigger
for another 700, and you will be good to go. LDS

Off topic ?? for LDS… is a Jewell for the XP-100 available w/ a bolt release ? If not OEM, are parts available from Jewell that can be installed ?

I think you will find the body of a 700 or mod 7 trigger, either factory or aftermarket will hit the rear action(tang) screw on the XP or mod 600s. They will fit and work if you feel you can shoot it without the rear tang screw.

Thanks, Butch.

Messed up in not stating: I have the Jewell mounted to the XP (as a rifle).

But… am fed up w/ using an Allen wrench to manipulate the concealed bolt release, hence the question of whether parts were available to convert to "standard" style release.

My part number JT03 is for the Model7 XP 100 and the XR100.
The trigger body is the same as the 700. Only the bolt release
is configured differently. Like all other models, I am out.

I am sure they will sell you a bolt release to fill your need. LDS

I know Jewell makes a trigger with the correct bolt release for a Model 7 which will also work on an XP-100R. I can't say if it works on early XP-100s. I have not seen it advertised, but I have ordered it directly from Jewell.
