I've finally reached the age

I've finally reached the age where enough people know I have an interest in firearms that people sometimes give me guns. Usually it's something like worn out ,broken, junk but on occasion it is something cool like this. 6mm flobert and I just happen to have 2 pacs of ammo for it. I wouldn't shoot this one but might make a copy someday for fun.

The butt looks like a derringer. The barrel looks like a target rifle. Is it for derringer matches? Shooting rats from the recliner? This thing has so many possibiltes

It's a parlor pistol. made for shooting in your parlor. shoots a cb or bb cap The bottom of the breech vents quite a bit as shown by the corrosion around the hammer area to keep the pressure/ velocity down for indoor use, . My guess mid 1800's

This floebert has been in the family for a long time. Pops picked it up in WW11.
As kids we would shoot 22cb caps through it in the back yard.
