You need an excavator to dig a big deep hole.
Anyone who says a 410 is for kids is just not familiar with a real 410! I love my 42. Pheasant nightmare, bane of rabbits, grouse ax. Never shot a turkey with one, but did take one with a 28 ga Model 12Turkey with model 42 .410 skeet, deer with Marlin 30-30.

100% agree! My first and only gun for nearly a decade was a 410. There is no telling how many rabbits and squirrels I harvested with that firearm. Got it's share of pheasants also. I went hunting one day with 3 other guys whom were all equipped with 12 gauge shotguns. At the end of the day my 410 was the only gun to take game, which included a nice rooster pheasant. That gun was an extension of my arm.Anyone who says a 410 is for kids is just not familiar with a real 410! I love my 42. Pheasant nightmare, bane of rabbits, grouse ax. Nice trophies!
Thanks!, the 42 was my Grandfathers gun, he passed away when I was 6 and I bought the gun from my parent's estate when they passed. This was the first year Indiana allowed .410 for turkey. Couldn't find any of the TSS shells, so I used Super-X 7.5 lead and let him get to 15 yards. The 42 and I were both born in 1959-the 42 is in a lot better shape than me!The 42 is a whip! In my better days it was my go to for all small game. I have limited (6) on rabbits 3x, grouse (2) twice, woodcock, multiple times, Pheasant (3) four times, dove (1x) and have shot 23 in a round of skeet (full choke no less) several times but never hit all 25. The gun is fast, and is murder on grouse and woodcock. I always ran #6 or 7 1/2 in a three inch shell. It was solid game gun out to about 30 yards on the smaller game, 25 on pheasant flushed. Your 42 skeet is a fine gun. I shot a double diamond skeet 42 a few times and really wanted to buy (or inherit!) that gun, but alas, no such luck.
Fred had a rough weekMeet Fred..
Fred is dead, but memorialized.
Fred's been hanging out in the living room and occasionally the dining room, he wasn't much of a conversationalist at dinner, so we sent him to his room which will be his final resting place.
Covid 19 got him, with underlying condition of 165gr partition.View attachment 1245660
