Well. Story behind this specific cottage goes like that: after WW2 when Finland signed peacetreaty with soviet union there was a big worry amongst people and especially within army that soviets would invade Finland. So finnish soldiers led by few officers did hide weapons for 30000 men guerilla army. In case of soviet invasion there would have been bitter guerrilla fight against soviets. Grandfather of cottages owner was one those people who did hide those weapons. And this mortar grenade is somekind of remembrance about that.Tell us the story behind every cottage in Finland having a mortar beside the door. I had a friend up in Northern Minnesota whom I was up there coyote hunting with one January many years ago. When passing through a very small town, as in blink and you missed it, he mentioned that it was all Finlanders that lived there. He made the comment in his Norske Minnesotan dialect, "those Finn's are a clannish bunch". Never really understood how to take his meaning of that, and never forgot hearing him say it.
Congratulations on a nice buck, nothing more rewarding than being close enough to poke em with a sharp stick!!Had some luck on my side yesterday evening and was able to get the 8 with a sticker pt down.
He either dropped at the shot or I just pulled high from excitement but arrow quartered in and was just poking out at the offside shoulder so worked out.
It’s been hot & humid, with stagnant weather in my area, so buck movement has been pretty lean. Made it that much more exciting to see this one on his feet in daylight. Lol

Bow season opened here today but I didn't go. My son-in-law went to the ER. Thought it might be a blood clot. The Dr. says no, but not sure what's going on. We'll get after them when he is better. 55th class reunion yesterday so I'm not quite as gung ho as I used to be!
