It Happened to Me -- Insurance

Most of you all need to back it down a hair because you aren't addressing the problem that Dave is discussing.

From State Farm:

What's True
State Farm does not insure any type of manufacturing business, including firearms.

Manufacturing Business insurance is completely different from your typical homeowner's policy or car insurance policy. There are many more dollars and structured elements involved that regular citizens don't require. I've had all my insurance with State Farm for my whole insured time on this Earth. I DO NOT use State Farm for my Business Insurance because they do not offer that side of the insurance business.

I had to drop Nationwide last year for my auto insurance after being with them since 1971. For some reason the price doubled. Anyway, I don't think you can be denied auto insurance in NC by any company. Like others, I think this is your agent speaking and not State Farm.

I had to ask my State Farm agent about commercial liability issues when I drove my car delivering for UPS. I ended up insured for liability only via UPS when I was driving for them. My personal coverage remained in place also but if I'd had a loss, I doubt I'd be covered under my policy. Gotta read the fine print!

Having been down the road of threatening to sue my insurance company to accept a claim and provide coverage for the loss I was insured for, I can tell you this is not the expected result you sign up for when you hand over the cash for the policy. A friend just got totally screwed by that certain auto insurance company who employs a lizard as a spokesman. He asked for full coverage. He paid a fee equal to his previous full coverage. He was assured he was getting full coverage. But when he wrecked his car, it was on his dime. He never got an actual policy to read so he never realized his exposure.

Dave go to another agent and ask! My State Farm Agent looked it up and here in New York of all places, he insures a guy with a gun shop and it's right on the side of the truck. They do not insure things like Ambulance's

Hes trying to insure a truck, not a business. The truck belongs to the business

FWIW- Consumer Reports lists the best auto insurance co. as USAA, based on cost, claim settlements, and customer satisfaction. I have Erie (+ 50 yrs) they were ranked near the top. The worst ones were the companies that bombard you with moronic commercials 24/7. You know the ones- Progressive, Geico, State Farm,Liberty Mutual, and AllState were all at the bottom of the rankings. Good luck.

Can you tell me how to get USAA to sell me insurance?

We went shopping for insurance for my company owned truck. State Farm declined to quote it. After pressing them as to why, we were told they don't do business with anyone in THAT industry.
wow I havent had state farm for sometime and finding this out Im glad i havent, Hope you find something

I doubt it was the agent. I live in a rural county of 13,000. I wake up to gunfire every morning. It's duck season. Gunfire is a regular thing here. If they discriminated against every pickup truck with a dog box in the back they wouldn't have any customers. The truck is in my company's name. Kind of dead give away what business I'm in.
We're with another company but checked with USAA. As of this morning we now have our two other vehicles moved to them. USAA doesn't write commercial insurance. They sent me to Progressive. My wife was handling that call and she didn't answer a couple of questions correctly then they declined.

I had my business truck insured with Erie and currently my son has his business truck insured with them. Both of us were/are in construction.
