Is the .243 Win Obsolete ?

Why do folks swap out the use of "sell" and "sale" ???? Is it a southern thing?? Like reversing some words, i.e. "peckerwood" "I need to get this gun saled....so it is for sell" Is it a hillbilly heritage thing?? Any one know?? Maybe some cell phone or so-called "smart" phones do it automatically. It is not a hard concept, but I see a lot of guys switching the use of these two words on the internet. I have honestly never actually had some one say to me in person, "yep, that rifle is for sell", but I sure see it written a lot.
it's 4:00 in the morning....I need whiskey.....yeah, that'll fix it.

What I want to know is why a guy would make his handle here the name of an old "boy band"?:D:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:;) (I'm just funnin wit ya.)

Loose and lose.

Lose, something that can't be found our is lost.

Loose, it ain't tight no more. Or how one of your old girlfriends was built.

You're and your.
And and an. Or just using n.
It's and its.
Too, to and tit's.
Led and lead, or lead and lead.

God, it's so confusing

I could go on for hours and hours.
It's caused by extremely poor education standards and parents and students that don't care.

My cell phone has very poor grammar and can't spell worth a crap. It's supposed to help, but it just makes typing anything much slower.
Such is life.

Am I correct in assuming that the word “southern” as you are using it is not a geographical designation but a term designating ones location on the IQ scale?

If the .243 Winchester is obsolete, then what is my 6mm Remington?
Wouldn't trade it - or my .243s - for all those Creedmores that so many owners now seem so desperate to sell.

The Creedmore family of cartridges does seem like a nice design that should work very well. It does get very old reading how it is obsoleting all these cartridges. I have a friend who wouldn't shoot one simply because of all the fanboys that won't shut up about it. It's almost as bad as the 6BRA fanboys :)

My new 243 shoots so much better than I would have ever hoped, near 6br type repeatable accuracy with about 400-600 FPS more speed.

It shoots much better than the Internet that keeps telling me it won't work.

My upbringing was full of myths : The 243 was a "girl's cartridge" because girls couldn't take the kick of real deer rifle.

Now THAT.......is funny right there!!! I will say this though...I'd like to "get" half of what that boy band has gotten!!! I could maybe forget about those gorgeous Mexican girls for a while.

Well, not really, just sayin', {as I clean coffee off my computer screen.....}

Edit: after thinking about it, I might want to take that back. Those boys were a little light in the loafers. That didn't stop the girls from yelling and screaming though.

New rifle calibers are like new fishing lures. Designed to catch the fisherman. The 243 is a fine cartridge. Premium bullets have really helped it IMHO. I don’t think I would sell one to jump on the Creed wagon.

I would have figured the 7.62x39 would be way higher but i guess they dont sell the crates of steel case junk i see laying around the ranges.

Steveoak. WOW great info. You are the man ! Hope we can get 2017 numbers with the creedmoor cal. Know keep in mind this is ammo sales and not gun sales. Like I said like me , at age 59 lots of us are shooting the 243 and we are buying all the ammo. When we start dieing off in a few years I don’t see how the 243 gun sales will fair that good. This is best info post of all on my thread. Thanks for posting.
Thanks. Marty

There is only one thing wrong with the .243 and its the same thing that's wrong with the .30-06. They are like butt holes, and everybody's got one. The .243 isn't going anywhere anytime soon. In fact, if the manufactures would start making them with an 8 twist barrel instead of the 9 or 10 I bet we would see a huge resurgence of the cartridges popularity because everyone could then shoot the heavy 105-115 bullets just like the new-fangled creed and give those guys something to shut up about.

Yes there are many better cartridges than the 243win, but that doesn't mean anything when it comes to staying power.

Many folk think the 6.5 Creed is the new 308win, but the 6.5creed will NEVER sell half as may guns and ammo as the 308win. EVER !. even tho the 6.5 creed is a much better all around cartridge.

Ever watch moonshiners? I wonder why they put them words on the screen. I understand them just fine. I embrace my language and blue Ridge heritage though one of my college professors refused to let me use it in language class. I have two or is it too or maybe to, awe shoot I'll just type 2. I have 2 243s. An Or is it a? An or A or whatever AR10 and a rem 770. Lol
