The less people that use R15 the better. Dirty and way too temp sensitive,
I think it works better for people who dont regularly use a chronograph lol

They must have changed the formula because when I shot rl15 in the dasher it was worth about .1gn per 10 degrees and I didnt shoot with a chrony, just tuned for each match with 3 shot groups at 1k. Agg was great but powder charge needed tuning every match to keep the tune. Rl 15 always shot smallest in the dasher for me so I didnt mind.

I have to do the same thing with H4895 in my dashers. Not that I mind, just saying, I think many of the powders need a little tweak as atmospheric conditions change.
RL-16 is the only powder that I have used that has held tune for a couple of months in a row. Maybe I am doing something wrong?

I have seen some barrels that could shoot the same load all season. Those are very rare barrels but they exist.

I found a similar thing testing with h4895 starting this summer-fall. To keep on top of it, it seemed to need .1 gr per every 10 -15 degrees. I started this after finding in previous years loading/development in the 60-70* range would blow up above 80*. Caused me to experiment with it.
In the spring (first 5 williamsport matches) when I shot rl15 i didnt change anything and did pretty well with varying temperatures from 40* to probably 75*. The rl15 load didnt shoot consistently small, but it was the conditions that didn't allow it. The one shoot off I lost because the first 9 were in a small 3" er and the tenth shot took it to a 5.0x", mr shields kept all his in 4.5x". I'm sure varying the powder for the temperature is beneficial with rl15 as well, I'm not denying that. But it seems even when your off a little, it still shoots pretty good. At least how I load develop with it.

My last dasher barrel would go 8" of vertical if I broke out the top. But it shot tiny when I was in tune. Rl15 is still my favorite powder in the dasher. I never had H4895, varget or H4350 shoot as small in my barrels. We see this contradicting data all the time. Whether its powder lots, barrels, local conditions or all the above we see people having different experiences. The very best advice I can give anyone is to test for yourself and believe what you see.

Alex, that is the number I come up with on real world testing on any of the extream powders near the cold. With H4895, H4350 (got a lot that will work in the IMP.} and Varget. RL-16 is worthless in an improved ,or at least the lot I got.... to balky..... jim
After shooting 15 shots to break in the barrel, I loaded 15 more to check velocity. My Oehler 35 Chronograph is old and it seems to register a little slow. I loaded 32.7, 33.0, and 33.3 grains of Re15 with 105 grain hybrid bullets. I loaded these .005 into the lands. 32.7= 2891/ES 9/SD 4/ 3-shot group .218; 33.0= 2933/ES 23/SD 12/ group .241; 33.3= 2949/ES13/SD 6/ group .328. Next, I tried two loads with the bullets jumped .020. 33.0= 2936/ES28/SD 14/ group .247 ; 33.3 /2955/ES33/SD 18/ group .434. My main interest for this was not group size and I did not put up wind flags. The wind was light and the temperature was in the low 70's (hot for this time of the year). I was using some very old brass and primed all of the loads with Federal 205 M.

I have been disappointed with the BRAI. A George in Ky (George Coleman) told me many years age when I was getting started in BR's, "If it don't shoot, get rid if it. There are too many things out there that do shoot."
I lost count how many Dasher Barrels I have, but right now I am shooting the shooting my old BRX barrel that Voldoc sold me used to try. Thought if I don't like it I would ream it out to a Dasher. I tried it, and have never once though about a rechamer. I have though about getting a new BRX barrel. I have taken the BRAI barrel off my BAT SB and will probably have it rechambered to BRX.
Here is my 800 yard waterline I shot Christmas Day with the BRX.
