I'm changing directions.

For the past 2 years I have been shooting 4895. In fact two different lots. I have shot the exact same power charge out of the same barrel. Maybe it’s time to do some experimenting with RE-15.

I was just thinking the same thing. I reviewed the 6 Dasher load data thread and it looks like between 32.2-33.8 was working for the 130-108 class bullets. I will load up a ladder test today.
Any suggestions?

+ - 33.0 , with the lower bearing length bullets. 108s I would back up, but don't have first hand data to advise. If your patches come out black, I would ignore the target's and abort immediately!:D

I’ll keep an eye out for those pesky black patches. I’ve heard stories that would scare me, and I ain’t scared of anything but my wife!

Damm I must be getting old. I would swore that they were yellow when I bought them. They must be eating my cleaning patches.

For those that can't take using that dirty & sensitive RL15, you can send it to me. I have the means to get rid of that nasty stuff, and am trying to do my part to rid the world of it. No thanks needed, just send it and I will take care of it for you.

Dovovan, if you get overloaded with RL-15 deliveries, send some on down to the DOME. I can dispose of a few pounds of it for the poor lost souls who have it setting on their shelves.

As soon as the weather gives me a break, I will load some of Bart's Gungnirs with Re15. Those bullets fly straight no matter what powder is used.;)
Also, I am getting some of the Alpha Dasher brass tomorrow. This will have me shooting a new 7.83 twist barrel with a different powder (Re15 rather than Varget) and a new brass case. With me changing as many variables as this, I may have an endless supply of excuses for my poor shooting.

Although I am still going to change directions, I shot my 6BRA at the 600 yard match today. Our match consists of four, 5-shot targets for score only. I simply could not find the center but all four groups were acceptable. They measured 1.882", 1.953, 2.413, and 2.745. Today was cold with bright sun and heavy mirage. The wind increased throughout the morning (from 2-3MPH to 6-8 MPH). My equipment was as follows: BAT/Lederer/Valdada 36X/Leonard. My load was 30.4 8208 XBR/CCI 400/ Bart 105 Hammers...seated to jump .005". Now if I could just learn to read the wind better. My scores were okay except for one train wreck that still puzzles me. The scores were... 48-1X; 46; ##33; and 48-1x. The 33 score was about 1 MOA right and was my smallest group (1.882). I will try my new Dasher next month.
