I just went through this. After lots of success over many years with a .262 neck bra clambering in quite s gee barrels in an effort to get away from so much neck turning I went with a .269 neck 6bra. I should have stayed with the brx case just a different neck size. So I jumped, wish I had stayed put.

If I had to make that choice I would go with the Dasher. I love that round and have all reloading dies I need. Since I also have a 6BR with a barrel approaching end stage in the throat I plan to stick with the BR in a slower twist, for Club level short range BR. I could have the old barrel rechambered to A Dasher but it's threaded for a Remington XP100 action and would be going to a Pierce P-1000, and I don't know if it might need a complete shortening and rethreading which makes the 26" barrel shortened to whatever seem a waste of money.

Kris, after seeing your post about your rest, don’t bother buying a cheap barrel to practice on. Your MORE than skilled enough to jump right in to chambering a Krieger, Bartlein, etc..

Kind of depends on what you want to do, but at least for me I look at what is currently winning the most and holds the most records. Thats a 6BRA. Thats not to say others dont win but its not that close when you look at records.

You need to compile the info based on what location number of BRA’s versus Dashers. Different reigns show a different turnout. I believe that they both are about equal at around 2980 fps. Bump that up to 3060ish where some Dashers shoot extremely well with the proper bullet combination and it’s light out. They shoot extremely well in a 20-25mph wind.

When I shoot out my 6BR Krieger, I will go faster twist and probably a 6BRA or even have a 6.5BRA made up. I have 8 twist now and want a 7 twist

With most lots of H4895 the high node is around 3030 in a 28" barrel. But a lot of guys that shoot the low node will beat guys at the high node and vice versa.

I'd choose the BRX. I did this once and was happy with the decision. Well enough that I have Zack building another 6BRX now.

My brx is hands down the most accurate thing I’ve ever shot. Fireforming, wc 844 and Sierra 60hp’s ….I’m varmint shooter, no interest in match competition. Cases done by necking to .25 then back down. Get the exact crush you want that way. I’ll be trying some cases made from Alpha dasher brass. Easy enough to do….dasher case into the 6 br body sizer until it chambers to you’re comfortable with it. The neck/ shoulder junction will actually blow forward a bit. Interestingly, Alpha 6BRA brass is 5 gr heavier than fresh brown box Lapua 6BR, at least the few samples of each I weighed. And fresh Alpha 6BRX was/is 10 gr heavier than that same Lapua. Next time at Alpha I’ll ask about that.

If you have a lathe go with krieger.
