I think I over annealed some brass

What ever happened to the good ol' days when gun guys argued over ridiculous caliber differences {30-30 vs. 32 Special???}.....Now we debate whether a propane device cannot possibly do it and you better send your cases to NASA to have them annealed in a thermo-nuclear powered, computer controlled, 42 gig, programmable, meglinating diethlyzer or they are ruined and to be thrown away!!!! Good god Y'all!!!!!! I guess I never realized I could shoot 1/4" groups and still be doing things so wrong!!!!!

And do so without annealing;)

Some people see something and ask why? Others see something as ask why not? How do you learn if you never actually DO something? That's why trade skills and hobbies like ours are vanishing to kids who'd rather watch a video of someone doing something, instead of trying to do it themselves.

I teach my kids to not be afraid to make mistakes, that's the best way to learn, besides the fact that in order to make a mistake, they have to actually be doing something.

Not trying to dis anyone. Just my take on life. YMMV

It was worse than that, neck was shoved down into case further
Yes indeed mine as well, I believe the cause was the expander ball not making a full cycle through the neck kinda like reversing a brush half way in the Bore. Somehow it grabbed the brass and wouldn't let go for lack of a better term.
My answer was to re set the depth of the decapper rod ensuring full cycle. This was a Forster neck sizing die that once I removed the .2405 ball I realized that the die was reducing the necks by .010 far more than required now I could have sent it to Forster for honing but chose to order a Harrell's bushing die instead.
I had not annealed any of these cases that had nothing to do with destroying the brass IMO

The imperial application media looks interesting. I have tried the dry lube and q-tip. Hard to apply lube consistently with a q-tip and unequal application does affect seating pressure and Es.
