I have a confession to make

I told my GF 36 years ago. “I am going to hunt,I am going to fish and I am going to rodeo. If that’s a problem tell me now” Been married 35 years. “Yes dear” is still working. Man I have messed up a few times since then.

I called my wife one time and the conversation went like this. Me: Hi Honey, Just called to say I love you. Her: Where are you? Me: Ho Guns. Her: How much. Me: A thousand. Her. Ok get it. I then hung up. Then called back and said I love you Honey...
I do say "Yes Dear" a lot. 25 yrs and counting and I was married on a Friday the 13th....

You mean to tell me you guys only have guns, shoot competition's, hunt, and fish and don't have any hot rods or fast cars to add to the addiction list.
HECK NO !!! last cool car in the garage was a 1966 fairlane gta. 390, factory air, 60k miles (actual) and a blast to drive. I think cars and guns go together, a bunch of the good shooters on here (not referring to myself ! ) have car histories. for a long time my ride to the range was a 68 fury III hardtop with the console shifter and American deep dish mags. the car got more comments at the range than my rifles did. also had a 46 Willys jeep with the original flathead , it'd do 34 mph topped out but would crawl through anything that resembled gumbo :)

My wife and I have an arrangement. Whatever I spend on gun stuff she can spend at the casino. :) Every now and then she asks me if I need any powder or bullets or another rifle.

Mine is cool with it even now in retirement. She only got up my butt once and that was way back in the early 70's when I was trying to duck hunt every morning and then go to work. I would come home for dinner like a zombie and be asleep on the couch by 7:00.... she finally said that was enough and I agreed.

She shoots and is a darn good shot. This year she asked for a pocket screw jig and screws for same for Christmas. I got her that and a Ruger #1 22 PPC.

Here is one of her .22 25 yard targets shot with a Ruger Sporter, Stainles barrel and a 2 lb trigger shooting a Leup VX2 6-18x40 with CCI SV ammo, 5 shot group. I bought her this gun right when she started Chemo this summer. She beat the cancer and is beating me on targets sometimes. She has her IL CCP and shoots a Kimber 45 ACP. I have no complaints.

Pikers...

Wait until your wife goes off to some Fed Convention to give some keynote address, and comes home. She walks up the driveway, comes thru the front door and asks you "there is a new Dodge 3/4 ton Cummins in the driveway; do you know anything about that?". I say, "is it silver?". "Yes". "Ummmm, if it's silver it's ours I think...". I get a little grief the next two months. Comes Halloween, and we are chaperoning a party for the middle school kids at church. I go out, start the truck, and turn those decadent (her word) heated leather seats on and let the truck warm up. Wifey comes out, snuggles into the heat, and tells me "honey, I will never say another unkind word about OUR truck.".

Mrs. Fyrewall is very detail oriented - like pay attention to every tiny detail - and in addition she has an incredible memory. In past life she was a industrial safety trainer - this means coping with folks that just don't get it but viewing some graphic videos usually brings most trainees around. At first we had problems like "all that powder needs to be stored correctly" or "there is a limit of how many primers may be stored in a residence". Then the subject of Remington 700 safety/triggers came up resulting in a disassembly. Then she started shooting, it was like the Chinese Olympic figure skating team when they first started. As expected, the incredible attention to detail kicked in resulting in her .22-.250 nailing far off targets, some as far out as 500 meters to the dismay of almost all male shooters on the line because they were unable to do as well. More and more I spend time in preparation for shooting like making lunch, assembling gear, cleaning guns. She refuses to shoot my .375 so all is not lost.

Its like once a month... hmmm... I get my azz chewed out for doing nothing.... and sometimes because I did nothing... Now we are prego and shit dont just hit the fan, it hits every wall in the house too!

Congratulations and good shooting. Boy or girl?

(Apparently you're not spending ALL your time in your gun room or at competitions) ;);):D Again, good shootin'. WD

Its eye opening and wow's me... its like honey... all that yelling just because you spilt water on the counter?... Women are so different then men its mind boggling..

Wait until after the baby is born.....
If she gets the “after baby depression” you are really screwed for a while. Ask me how I know!

Some wives just work better than others. Like" dont complain about my antiques and i wont complain about your guns". "While your shooting at Williamsport, Ill check out the Antique shops in the area" At one point I suggested we needed a better(bigger) boat, she said "lets look at trucks that can tow it". At least her junk shop acquisitions tend to appreciate, while I turn money into noise.
Another truism asked me by a preacher was "do you want to be right or be happy?" Were working on our 51st year.

no problem in our house. if I say i'd like to buy a gun. my wife says if we can afford it get it. when we first met I got her into shooting trap and hand guns. so she understands my addiction.

Sounds like menopause to me. I went thru the same thing about 30 yrs ago, came home from work one day a bit late, she asked if traffic was bad or whatever. No problems at all. Next day, basically the same situation, but total he$$ broke loose, she making accusations on my whereabouts, etc. These mood swings continued for a while, one day something was ok, next time the same circumstances came about, nothing in this world was right.

I have a range buddy who says his wife gets the same amount of $$ that he spends on guns and related items. I don't have that policy, I like secrets. LOL. I have to figure out how I'm gonna get a 22lr silencer in the house (whenever it gets out of jail). I already have the Ruger 22/45 Lite in the house that she hasn't seen yet, or at least questioned what was in that "box over there" that I bought when I bought the silencer.

She complains about me spending time "piddling" in my reloading room at times, but if I sit in same room with her, she is FB or texting her sister/daughter, so I spend time in "my room". It's always a no win situation with women, you've lost before the battle begins because you never know what the fight is about. LOL.

I am one of luckiest people in the world. One wife close to 40 years. With our wedding money, I bought her a twenty gauge Browning BSS and a Model 70 Winchester in 243. Since my retirement, seven years ago, I shoot on average, 4 or 5 tomes a week, plus my reloading. Add to that my hunting and fly fishing. That is not the best part; I have three grand daughters that I spend a lot of time with. I am living the dream. With that said, I would give it all up in a heartbeat to make my son's life whole. Two years ago, I learned m son is married to the town whore. Multiple affairs, drugs, and non stop partying. Add to that wrecking him financially. Last Christmas, she left the house and returned several days later. Told my son to get a divorce and demand she change her last name. He stayed on, trying to make it work, for the sake of the kids. My son is a better man than me, it would have been very nasty, if I was her husband. Thankfully, she is now my future X daughter in law. Spent the first sixty years of my life hating no one. But I learned. Don't need sympathy, this is all to common of an occurrence. Many others could relate similar stories. This has shaken me to the core. While driving her family apart, it has drawn mine closer together. My wife is the anchor that holds us together. She was the best looking girl around when I married her (high school sweat hearts) and has only become more beautiful.

Im addicted to guns and shooting. My wife told me so.

My wife hit me broad side outta the blue, brought it to my attention, and told me I have a problem.

It went something like this:

"You dont need another god d*** gun! you have plenty! All you wanna do is spend time in your stupid gun room, doing stupid gun crap! And go shoot stupid competitions. Your so addicted, and always on those stupid forums."

and that was it... (note no conversation dialogue for me...there was none...) next day its like nothing happed.

yall that are married too cant tell me you've never had that kind of experience in the house! And they wonder why we like going to deer camp with the guys and hunting so much... lol
You need to get her shooting somehow.

Sniper338, that quote about your wife gave me the chills. My wife literally says the SAME thing. My favorite is when I’m messing around on my phone and she says “you better not be on your stupid forums.”

I’m about to one up you too...my wife says I WORK OUT TOO MUCH!!! WTF?!

Also congrats on the baby. We have an 11 month old. When she was pregnant it was awful, but once she had the baby she snapped back to normal like nothing happened. I was thanking god i made it through that hurricane lol.
