How would you pack to move?

Say you were going to be moving and must pack your stuff away for a while. Would you spray something on all your dies and equipment to protect it from humidity and whatnot? what about the rifles?

For how long a period of time will it be packed away?

If not for an extended period of time, put some desiccant packs in with your equipment.

Wipe everything with RIG grease. I have used this stuff for 20+ years with great results. I work out of state for up to a year at a time and when I get home none of my guns are rusty. Patch the bore with it and it will be ok for months on end.

I don't know how long it will be packed away. My job was sent to India. I would like to move south but don't have anything lined up. Hopefully Somewhere in eastern Tennessee - Knoxville to Chattanooga but nothing is etched in stone. Need to look for work too.

I have used RIG with good results. Both the grease and the spray work well, the grease will probably last longer but either will last for years if the humidity is not too high. For long term storage I use the spray first because it is easier to get good coverage in any close areas and then put grease on top of that. The lower the humidity the better, obviously.

I have used birchwood Casey sheath on my guns in an unheated area for multiple years with success.

Much depends on the storage location.

Are you taking ambient conditions in a coastal Mississippi garage, or indoor storage in Utah.

Humidity (mainly) along with climate control will make a huge difference, as well as the period of time that your stuff will spend in those conditions.

Eastern TN would be a great choice. I escaped from the People's Republic of CA a few years ago and landed in Knoxville. Great people, great shooting ranges and plenty of watering holes.

Store your stuff in NM; 50% humidity when it rains...

To be more helpful, I would definitely use a rust preventative. Either sealed with dessicants for ammo, or use a good oil/lube. There have been articles on storage on the bulletin not long ago.

A good cleaning afterward when you unpack too.
