How to remove sizing wax

I had to use some sizing wax to size some cast bullets the other night. I put them in my sonic cleaner and then powder coated them with no problems so it worked well. I never use it for brass but after that I‘m going to start.

I use an ultrasonic for brass cleaning. Works great, and I suspect it would work great for removing sizing lube of any kind. A dribble of Simple Green, or similar, and there you have it. I'm going to try that.

I use a plastic container with Denatured alcohol, shake it a few seconds and strain using a regular kitchen strainer, set on a cloth and the alcohol will evaporate in short order.

I don’t get the whole fear deal on this at all. I get clean out your chamber because you don’t want oil or solvents in there to cause over pressure problems. Now back to knocking a little sizing wax off your case, if you left a slight protection on your case after wiping nearly everything off of it; I think you think there’s a problem that doesn’t exist.

Just now I checked Amazon for Sprayway glass cleaner, that has no ammonia. It has been heavily discounted since I last looked, 74%. down to $2.49 on Prime. 12 oz. aerosol

For small runs I use alcohol but for large volumes I use Mr Clean with citrous full strength and swish the brass in a bucket then wash with water and dry. It is cheap and cleans the brass too! Keeps it shiny!
