how many shooters own a 6 br that won't shoot good groups under 200 yds

hi
as the questions says my 6 br absolutely will not shoot under 200 yds good groups with many different, powders, primers ,bullets, seating depths, 750 rounds worth of trying, and i am at my wits end! I did get 10 rounds to shoot good groups at 600 yds, maybe? still need to repeat that test to be confident.
thoughts?
thx for the help!

What is it? Sounds lie a bad barrel. 6br is stupid easy and accurate... any load shoots good to decent... if it aint shooting you got parts issues.
I am starting to believe its the barrel too, everything else checks out, never had such a impossible time getting a load.

Tried a different scope?
Broke scope can drive ya crazy
actually this scope is shared with my .223 rem ,the first of the month we shoot a club match at 200 yds ,60 rounds, shoots excellant!! then back on the br to have large groups return so not the scope, this has been repeated between guns many times.

A description of the rifle would help. Tube gun? Stocked gun? Bedding? Bolt handle interference? Whose barrel? Crown? Any gun that shoots patterns with the BR is broke.

I kind of had the same issue with a Savage factory barrel I got off this site. The barrel was an 8 twist 30" long. The gentleman I got it from told me he was moving on to something different. I tried every combination I could come up with until I got tired and then after a year or so of it sitting in the corner, it hit me, change the harmonics of the barrel. So I started cutting off an inch at a time. Now at 22" it will shoot Sierra 95gr and Hornady 105gr bullets using Varget or H4895 under .375MOA at 100 yards with consistency plus I have shot the 105's out to 1000 yards and repeatedly hit steel. Good luck with your barrel, I hope this helps.

If it shoots good at 600 and not at 200 then it's the sleeping bullet phenomenon. Which is B.S. If it shoots good at 600 the problem is you. Mike
maybe, then maybe not, it shoots a ping pong ball group at 200 but holds that group at 600 range proportioned its not shooting flyers at 600.

i have owned a whole bunch of 6BRs from 14 twist to 8 twist. barrels included CBI, Krieger , Bartlein, Brux. in your 8 twist CBI, you need to try the 80gr Bergers again, but with N135 powder. all the 8 to 12 twist 6BRs i have owned, shoot that combo in the .1's" and '2's" @ 100 yds ( 5 shots). even the worst barrel shot that combo in the .3's". the usual load that has worked for me in all these rifles i listed, is right around 30 grs. just as the 6BR page in the calibers section of AccurateShooter says, this combo will tell you if a rifle will shoot. it is the most consistently accurate load across rifles of any load or caliber i shoot.

imho, if it won't shoot that combo, find another barrel.

No such thing as a gun that shoots smaller farther out (2moa at 100 but 1moa at 600). I know a guy that will pay you thousands plus a plane ticket to show him. Last 15yrs he hasnt paid anybody yet. My bet its your scope. A 223 doesnt shake it loose like a br will.

hi
my friend has a remage 6 br, built at the same time as my savage, his barrel is a clone of mine, doing the same thing, he has his own sightron 10-50, so for what is worth?

what does the rifle do ? spit random shots ? just not group small ? shoot to flat? shoot with vertical stringing?what kind of a platform is this rifle built on? barrel contour , rifling configuration, stock type , scope type etc. I found some info above. if it where me I would go through the ignition system first to verify its clean of grime etc. firing pin falling cleanly etc. if all checks out then i would check out how I am handling my brass do i have enough bump and sizing? if so i would shoot a couple different bushings everything else being the same brass prep wise. being you have tried so many bullets I would just pick one and run a couple small tests. you should see something better or worse but if brass is bound nothing will work out regular it will be finicky good luck
