6 BR, A or D

Lifesfordeath

Life is but a dream...
Hello,

I shoot an informal f class match at 300 yds. We use a shoot and see target with the bulls eye measuring a bit under 2" for 20 shots for score. The kicker (though probably still not much challenge to most of you) is if you touch the line you get the lower point.

To date my best outing is a 200-16x with a 6.5 creedmoor in a chassis and it grouped 2.020".

I have a savage 12 f class and am looking for what chambering in the 6 BR variants you would go with and the bullet you would most likely choose to try to achieve a 200-20x on this target. This is something I've wanted to do for a few years, again, probably easy done by many of you but it's alluded me and a few others over those years as well.

Thank you guys

lots of variants out there. Chase them to your heart’s content. Bet you come back to the consistency of the 6br. An interim step is to upgrade your action, trigger, stock and barrel. You’r nibbling around the edge. Ask a shooter that has a skill level you wish to obtain to watch your shooting technique. there’s no silver bullets other than practice, refine your reloading as much as possible. And have fun!

With brass available for the BR, BRA and Dasher there’s plenty to choose from. If there’s a possibility of ever shooting mid or long range the Dasher or BRA. Otherwise the straight BR is great. Berger 105 or 108 and Sierra 107SMK are the easy button in an 8” twist. There are lighter bullets and slower twists that would work great but the above are again the easy button that are more than up to the task.
