Hornady or Sierra

Eldms have been pretty inconsistent for me in every caliber I've tried.
I absolutely could not get the 75s to shoot in two different 223 wylde barrels while the 75 vlds shoot one hole.
However I'm currently running 134 eldms in my 25x47 improved with excellent accuracy..But.. I had a few high flyers at my prs match the other week that were about .8 mils high, that was shooting prone too.

I did some testing this weekend and definitely had some totally wild impacts at 975, and 1300 yard, even had a random flyer at 550.
It's concerning enough that I'll switch to 135 lrhts for matches going forward.

As for cost, I broke down the difference between the Eldms and Berger’s in bulk.
It's $165 less per thousand to shoot the 134, considering the cost of everything else and the time loading etc. I think consistency is well worth the price difference.
Bergers are the best for sure.

I would think an extra sixteen cents a bullet is a bargain to having a Winner’s mindset when competing.

The 75 ELD-Ms shoot great out of my .223 Wylde I use in PRS matches. Have shot them out to 1150 in matches and they have done the job. Here’s 5 at 100 with 8208 but I also use Varget with them and load them .020” off the lands.

Dang I wish mine would do that..
I chased every load combination imaginable before giving up
Now I'm sitting on a few thousand 75 eldms that aren't even accurate enough for training. When my Brux is done I have a proof prefit comp barrel ready to screw on, maybe it'll like them

In think the test is not whether bullets can shoot a small group, it's that they don't produce flyers ;)

Never get any flyers in my loads.

That’s a Patriot Valley Arms Osprey barrel. They do great work and the barrels shoot on my TL3s and Origin. Been using Josh for years.

To be fair "flyer" is a relative term, and what is considered a flyer in F class or BR, would be an amazing group in PRS. Hornady wouldn't be my choice if I was looking for small groups, and I think even in PRS Berger is the go to for the top shooters

People can choose what they want but I have never had an issue with the ELDs. Don’t shoot groups in PRS but my own testing hasn’t left me wanting even at longer distance. I have shot them out to a mile on 12” steel with the 180 ELDs in a 7mmRM.
