Hornady 208 BTHP and 208 ELD M differences?

Hello Everyone

Can anyone tell me the differences between 30 cal Hornady 208 BTHP and 208 ELD M projectiles apart from the red tip?

I see the BTHP are slightly shorter but do they still require a longer freebore like the 208 ELD M? My application is FTR shooting.

Hornady says the Match Line is a secant ogive bullet but I can't say that is actually true looking at the line in general. The ELD-M line is definitely secant with a more aggressive profile. The boat tails may be slightly different and the obvious OTM design versus the tipped redesign. The difference in BC is due to the tip and ogive configuration (for the most part).

I can't answer the question on freebore since I haven't shot either.

Thank you for your reply, think ill just get a box and see how they go. Their G7 BC is comparable to a 200 Hybrid and thats before any pointing so ill see how it goes. Only thing is my barrel is currently throated to suit 185 Juggs so might not have enough freebore to get the most out of the 208 BTHP
