300 Win Mag Hornady 208 ELD-M

I'm running 76grs of H1000 208 horny 28in Criterion shoots well...when I shoot it...& CCI BR primers....but I have some Fed 215mag mat I want to try also
Is that load pretty crunchy? Have you run Chronograph on that load? What kind of MV are you getting? brass? I am looking to get the most out of the round I choose. 208gr.Hornady would be the lightest round I choose. 230gr being the heaviest. My goal is to push the envelope out to 2500 yards. I have Hornady brass to start load development. I have several options of bullets. All that I have seen and heard, brass is gonna make or break my load development. I have checked on ADG brass and it is not available yet. I have a hard time running Federal brass because of past experiences. There could be some brass that is consistent and tough enough to withstand the beating I am gonna put it through. I just haven't found it yet. Thanks for the input.

just what I shoot no chrono just accuracy on paper, it's what my barrel likes, if that's any help

I use Federal F.C. brass. Much better that Hornady 300winmag brass.

Just so you know. The 208 ELD-M is EXACTLY the same bullet as the 208 A-max. Only difference is the newer "Heat-Shield" tip. I've measure both side by side. But not all ELD-M bullets are like that.
So what do you find wrong with horny brass? What is the main draw back ? I no folks that use and like it and get people asking me about it quite often. I personally have not used enough of it to make a decision good or bad

I'm not who you are asking, but ill throw my .02 in.
I've only used it as purchased loaded ammo, and then reloaded from there.
The case length dimension for the 300 win mag is 2.610"-2.620".

Every one of their brass cases measured 2.600"- 2.605".
Even their match and superperformance line.
I didn't like that at all. I do not know why it is that way, or what they were thinking or trying to accomplish, because the 300 win mag neck dimension is short enough without making it shorter. Who knows, maybe it was their shortcut to less neck tension.
What I didn't need is to shoot a bunch of cartridges loaded with their brass, and then switch to a normally dimensioned case and have carbon deposits left from the short neck Hornadys bump the pressure up on those rounds.
Anyway, I ended up tossing about 100+ 300 win mag Hornady cases due to this.
I haven't used them in this cartridge since.
Before I bought the Hornady cases for the 338 Lapua, I dimension checked them. They were fine.

I found Hornady 300winmag brass work hardens faster than F.C. requiring me to anneal more often.
