A cupla yrs ago a shootin buddie of mine had a fire in his garage/reloading hideout....the car got ruined and the interior was a mess from the fire and the water sprayed by the over-exuberant vol. firemen!!.....his reloading area was a mess...it even set some of his powder on fire and they in turn singed everything nearby ,,,dies,press,etc....and he had a stick of 1000 primers that were sogy and the lil plastic trays that the primers were in were warped and bowed like a bannannanna hahha.....wellll about a month ago he called me and asked if I wanted all the stuff...he was givin up on reloading....I tried to reason with him...to no avail....he gave me a like new Rockchucker and 5 or 6 sets of dies that were in need of some oilin up ....and these PRIMERS!!!!.....so I got the press all like new and the dies workin fine .....but here were those primers....well I just happen to hav a 7/07 that needed some cases fire-formed......since I race hot rods and milk rattlesnakes and chase fat women for a hobby,nuthin much scares me (the lawyers will go spastic on that ,haaha)....soooo I tried some of those questionalble primers....I opend up all of the boxes and seperated the outside row of 10 on each side of the ones that were the best looking and put them in a pill bottle and the 80 in the middle rows in another pill bottle......and there were some that were melted into the plastic trays that was part of the package....i prolly threw away 300 +/- a cupl.....and there were 7 that looked bad from tarnish etc.....wellll... I loaded up 7 30-06's and put those ole' primers in em and guess what ....they worked just like new ones....ahahhaha....who-da thunk it.....I hav heard of people trying to "kill" old/bad primers and not being successful....well how about this.....these ones went thru the fire and water ....and still work .....Im not going to Alaska and hunt Grizzly bears with these primers....but they are working good for FF loads.....just thought Id share a lil' insight and humor with everyone....Roger

Had a buddy soak some of his primers in water(completely submerged) for 2 whole days. He thought they were dead and then threw them in a fire barrel and got a surprise. They came back to life. Piper, not a Volunteer F.F. but you ever been on a hose line with a hot fire going, You would spray alot of water too. Not trying to be a Smart axx either so don't take it that way.

For Sale 608 Large Rifle Primers.....still in Zip-Lok baggie.....hahahaha.....I have had 2 phone calls and several e-mails about those primers.....it is amazing they still work!!!....as I said earlier Im not crazy enuff to hunt with them...but shur am gonna use em to FF with....my buddie also gave me some bullets in that same bunch of items from his garage and they were tarnished somewhat,,,I tumbled them in corn cob media and they are shiney like new.....and shoot great (.270 Sierra SBT and .308 Hornady 150's)....they are not for sale...wink.....life is good...I think I will call my FAT girl friend.....Roger

I had no idea that primers would take such abuse and still work! Perfect for fireforming loads no doubt. I used to chase fat girls as a hobby too Roger. I can't lie, it was kinda fun! Then I quit drinkin and the alure just wasn't there anymore. I think the beverage alcohol fascilitated the indulgence in overweight girls. Now, I just chase girls that way 150# or less !

They're not called fat. Now it's "pleasingly plump". Fat girls need love too. And remember, Thin is in but fat is where it's at!

! I've loved a few of them in my day ! A good friend of mine has a rule. If their breasts stick out further than their belly, its all good ! To be honest, I like women with a little extra meat on their bones. Nothing against skinny girls, thats just my preference is all ! There is somebody out there for everybody! I've been shot down by every size woman out there but, I don't let it get me down. I just move on to the next one ! Take care all!

Sorry to drag this subject back to shooting, but I was googling "Fat Girls" and found this post.
As for the primers working after being damp, well anyone with a decent IQ could tell you they would work, and it is due to s phenomenom called murphys law.
It states that if ever you are prepping some cases for a very very important1000yd BR shoot, you will let a sceric of moisture from your finger touch the priming compound on your record cases, this WILL ensure the primer only goes off at half strength or not at all.
If you want to disable primers, I think it would help if you found a way to fool the primers into thinking they are being used for something very important, then they will fail plenty of times.

wyleWD....good to hear frm U...your right ...I am a luky guy,and your a good friend........I found these primers in the yard where I put them when I brought them home 3 yrs ago,and was afraid to bring em in the house...they had been in the fire in the 70's and have sat all this time,I had forgot about them....misshandled/abused/neglected/improperly stored/etc.....just out of curiosity I tried em ....its amazing......every one have a GREAT DAY and keep your "powder DRY"....Roger
