Henderson Trimmer

I really want one of these...at least I think I do. Seems I'm always trimming PPC and BR cases to make them just so even though they don't grow much. Looking to make a good decision since this is a big ticket item for me. Who has the scoop on the good, the bad, and the ugly?

I think I have trimmer envy.o_O

Thanks gents. Is there any additional brass prep I need to do prior to trimming? I typically trim after sizing with my bushing die.

Have you tried the Giraud trimmer . I see most are using them at matches.
I have not tried one. I’ve been considering it also. I have watched guys using those at the range. I like the idea of indexing off the case head more than the shoulder, but…

I don’t have any experience with the Henderson. But do with others that have a pilot in the neck
they bugger the inside of the neck up. A brush or something like John mentioned would be a must for me

Thanks Tim,

When watching videos, that was a concern for me as well. Appreciate your input considering what we are trying to do.

I couldn’t stand the pilot marring up the insides of the necks. I did play with the brush idea. Problem was it was almost impossible to keep the case perfectly centered. I believe this is due to the way the collet grabs the case. Tried polishing the pilot etc….Drove me crazy. Sold it and kept the giraud.

does the Giraurd work with a pilot in the neck or no

I do not believe it does. I was hoping you may know! Maybe a Giraud user will chime in. I'm just getting tired of trimming my cases with my Wilson, then chamfer, then de-burr. I use the power option, but man it sure takes time. The end results have been spectacular, but I'd really like to speed up or eliminate some of the tedious, time consuming aspects of reloading.

Pilot does not seem to affect my accuracy.
Love mine, the time I save over hand trimming, chamfering and deburring is well worth it. Used to spend about an hour a week on just 25 cases, now it’s a few minutes. If I count my time the way the government pays me, the Henderson paid for itself after just a few hundred cases.
