I'm planning on making one that's got marked degrees all the way around it - So I can time/index as well, without having the action.
Made this awhile ago...it gets used all the time!View attachment 1386699
MitutoyoFor those with an "over the tenon" device, can you share what depth mic you're using?
Mitutoyo
I use a 2" starrett head. Reason being I can zero the head at the tool face and take an measurement under and over 1". I can also use my cone inserts to establish length. For those with an "over the tenon" device, can you share what depth mic you're using?
I'm sure somebody has to make them.Seriously, that would be amazing. I would think Brownells would jump on that if you could supply them.
I just made one in 16tpi and one in 18tpi and have marks around it with numbers. Id hate to know i had to screw a piece on a barrel every time i checked headspace- i like that slip onI'll get one to have some dimensions and make life easier. But I'm liking the idea of having a couple different bodies that are threaded to fit barrels so I can clock them
