Guns I Wish I would have never sold

It is much easier to mention the ONE I did NOT mind selling. A S&W model 59(?) 9mm. And I actually didn't sell it, I traded it for a new-in-box stainless Ruger MKII .22LR. Very happy with the trade.
I sold my stainless Ruger mini-14 and replaced it with an Armalite AR-15. Don't regret the AR, but wish I still had the Mini-14 also.
And then I moved to Virginia and culled down my collection from 42 to 12 before the move. Regret is not exactly the word, it HAD to be done, but I do wish I still had them. Oh well...

The only ones I really regret are every TC Contender I ever parted with, and there have been a bunch! I'm trying to replace them but they are getting kind of hard to buy! I've had a love/hate relationship with the Contender since I bought my first one in 1979. I have sold them all off more than once :oops:

Barrett M82. Back story...
1985 It was brought to my attention by a friend of a friend of a friend, that a gentleman was going thru an ugly devorce and a part of the decree was, he had to sell his firearm collection and "split proceeds with ex".
I he got even with the ex and I got the rifle for $1800. Had it a couple of years until an offer was made to buy it. Sold it for $3900 imagining quite a profit.

What are they worth now????
Exactly. Still carry the imprint on my ass from my own size 11 steel toe boot.
Looking back, guess I should have bought more gold too.

Many years ago I sold a Winchester 92 24" rifle in 25-20. Its had Plenty of "soft wear" on the external but very strong rifling. My eyes were young then but with the long sight radius the little rifle would really shoot. It was a different time. Sold it for $400 when that was an ok price. Sure wish I had it back.

5 inch Mod. 27 S&W. Thought I wanted a 6 inch-- big mistake Sally. Sold it to my preacher with first right to buy it back when he wanted to sell. But that was 50 years ago and I still not been able to get it back.
Bill, First centerfire pistol I ever owned (50 yrs ago) was a S&W 5" Model 27. I traded it for a Rem 700 BDL in 25-06 a few years later. I wish I had that Model 27 back many times since then. A beautiful blue on that Model 27. Had a nice Don Hume holster and belt for it. The 5" are hard to come buy it seems.

Thought it would be neat to here of the guns you all have sold and wish you would have never gotten ride of. mine are
Ruger GP 100 SS 6" barrel in .357 Mag with a sweet trigger job.
Rem700 LVSF in 22-250 and 7-08.
Rem700 VS in 22-250 and 243 these being the old BDL VS models
Ruger MKII Goverment Slabside Target Model 22LR. with a sweet trigger job.
Oh yea and I regret selling every Canjar set trigger I have ever owned.
The first new rifle I ever purchased was Remington 700 Varmint in 243 Win. I was about 22 and recently married (1976). Honestly I am not sure why I bought it, other than I really wanted it. I put a "good" quality Tasco scope on it (I know, but at the time ...). I sold that rifle in the late 80's to buy a new shotgun. To this day I'm sorry I did.

My very first new handgun was a Blackhawk in .41 magnum. Sold it long ago and wish I'd not.

I think I got my first gun in 1967, was a lever action Daisy BB gun, I had it through my teenage years,…. Not sure where it went. But in February 68 on the day we buried my Grandfather my uncle gave me a single shot 410 since that time I’ve steadily collected and only sold two guns to get my ex wife to shut her mouth about MONEY!…
A Colt Lawmen .357 and a Browning 22 mag!… the wife was replaceable but I’ve never found those two exact models to replace!.. also I had a 58 cal muzzleloader that Thompson replaced the stock three times!.. the third time I got it back it never left the hardware store I traded it for a model 92, might give some away before I die so my kids don’t have so much to do.

The only one I wish I still had, but don't regret selling is a CZ527 in .223. Although I wish I still had it, it went to a good home. A kid out of college where I worked could come in regularly during deer season and tell the tale of shooting a nice buck that they had to trail to find, or did not find. He said he was shooting a .270. I lent him the CZ with the caveat that he had to make sure he placed his shot correctly to make a kill. About 3 deer (not trailed) later he wanted to buy the rifle. I guess he thought the 270 would crush anything.

I don't regret selling any. If I did sell them, it was time for them to go, which means they did not excel in any way.

1) S&W Model 17, 6", TT, TH, TS, with the most incredible action job I've ever experienced;
2) SAKO Vixen Hunter Deluxe in 6MM PPC-USA;
3) custom built Luger with a replacement 6" barrel and a gorgeous bluing job;
4) Marlin 1893 (original) in .32-40 that was very, very accurate
5) Original Winchester 1892 Take-Down in .32-20
6) Early Ruger Red Label 20 gauge
7) Winchester Model 1890, early (SN 2290), inherited from my paternal grandfather

Here's the sad question. How many times have you sold a firearm you liked because you were lusting over one that you had never shot, then bought the one you thought you wold love only to find yourself disappointed~? Answer, toooo many times~!!
