Gun(s) you wish you'd never sold?

But wait. There's more. To show my stupidity was boundless and lasted for decades.

Hervey Lovells 2R Lovell High Wall. Not just a Lovell, but his own Lovell.

A G&H High Wall in .219 Imp. Zipper, a fabulous rifle. Dang.

A Hoffman Arms .280 Dubiel, double square bridge Mauser, with everything Hoffman and Dubiel could do to gussy up a Mauser. I bought it for 600 bucks and sold it for 800 and thought I was the canniest gun seller of all time. A dealer friend bought it and sold it, don't know how much. But he bought it back 30 years later for 10k. I saw it last year. Hurts very much.

In my defense I was so broke I'd have to trade one gun to get another, and in the cow business I never knew how broke I'd be next month.

Dummies like me should be taken out and shot.

I didn't sell it, but I failed to acquire it when my grandfather passed. It came up missing, nobody knew anything about it....

Anyway it was a pump action 8 ga shotgun, and had about a half a box of shells to go with it. It was ugly as sin, but boy did have a hole in the end of the barrel. It may have been used to harvest waterfowl in less than sporting ways. Grandpa did a fair bit of trading with several Japanese families. It still burns my butt, probably ended up in a pawn shop.

Gun Nut 1

only had cheap guns...but miss a few:
1. GP100 that was worked over by a PPC master smith...so smooth
2. CZ527 in .222.....just a fun rifle
3. T-bolt in .17hmr.....worked the trigger and had it shooting really well at 100yds
4. Tangfolio Witness Elite Match.... switched the wonderful factory trigger out to a flat one, never got it running like i wanted...so just sold it. Should have kept it stock.

I traded my Sako deluxe 243 bull barrel for a new in the box Belgian 20 gauge Browning Shotgun big mistake 2 nd was selling Dean Stroud forum member a 6BR Benchrest rifle for his son . And #3 was selling a Monte Carlo K32 4 barrel set . This gun had one of a kind English walnut totally rebuilt by Krieghoff to like new condition . The only thing I regret selling that for was the rarity of the gun only 47 made . I regret but it's been a fun and interesting run . I'm looking forward to be getting another 6br in the near future from Zack with Old Dominion Custom Rifles. IMG_20180924_130953_318.jpg

A Ruger 22-250 heavy barrel. It had belonged to several of my friends before i got it had a name and was known to many as "Death". Between the 3 of us that owned it, it had been shot till the barrel was almost gone. I wish I would have had it rebarreled.

Greetings,
After 6yrs in the military, I started my 30yr LEO career. My aunt and uncle gave me both a S&W 6” 686 and a 2 1/2” class C engraved nickel M-19 when I graduated our state LEO academy. I traded the 686 for a SIG 226 years later. I wish I had that 686 back!

Ever sold or given away a gun that, to this day, you wish you'd never gotten rid of?

Only one, in my case ...

A Remington 700 .243 that was nearly quarter-MOA accuracy at 300yds. Started out as an off-the-shelf SPS Varmint with heavy barrel and the flimsy plastic stock. Added a Jewell HVR trigger, a custom fiberglass stock (perfectly bedded), and a marginally tolerable scope. And I wasn't hardly a decent marksman. With a great barrel and reloading, along with a high-quality scope ... well, I'll never know.
My Win. 88's. Most of all a 100 carbine in .284. Dumb, dumb, dumb !

Win 9422, bought for $225.00 early 90s. Saw one going for $1,000.00 prior to pandemic.

Don't know if I miss that rifle more or the girl who broke my heart....have to go with rifle. Rifle would never break my heart but women will leave you, a rifle won't unless you sell it then you break your own heart.

Had a New reel to reel tape recorder. Next door neighbor saw it, wanted it so I ended up with a "Like New" Browning High Power. Don't think it had ever been fired.
Never fired it myself but kept it for a while. Finally headed to the local Gun Store. Spotted a Ruger Mini 14. Actually a POS but one of those "must have" deals.
Traded the Browning for the Mini. Still have the Mini but havn't fired it in probably 5 years.
Miss the pretty High Power but if it came down to it, it probably wouldn't have fired it much anyway.
Did have a BSA Martini 22 RF that belonged to my shooting buddy that died. Took it upon myself to sell off all his gun related gear for his wife. He and I use to shoot rats under his goose house with it. Killer accurate and must have weighed around 50 pounds. Had a fitted wooden flip top box. When shooting buddy died, found the rifle under his wood working bench with the lid open, the rifle covered with saw dust and dirt and the barrel covered in surface rust. Took it home, got after the box with an air hose and steel wooled the barrel. Bore was fine. BIG. Topped with a Unertl Target scope. Should have kept it for myself.

Put the word out it was for sale. One of the "older" early bird rim fire shooters from the Gun Club found out about it and tracked me down. SOLD it !! No questions asked. Wish I had it back.

Love to have another Martini, converted to center fire and chambered for my "20 TCM" Wildcat. :D

I built a 264 Winnie back in the day when 6.5 wasn't cool. Yet... Mauser action, can't member the barrel maker, nice stock I finished. Shot lights out. After 4 years I had a brain fart and sold it to friend who is still killing Elk with it every year.

Yea I'll add to the Python remorse pile...4" nickle plated I think, was in my mid 20s in 85 or so and traded it for a 46 ford with olds v-8 in it....no brainer right? then met my first and only wife and had to sell the truck to help get the first house.
Not sure which of the 3 I would rather or should have kept ??? naw simple choice :)
