Go easy....total noob to 6BR/Norma

Before I spend on components and tools to load, what is a budget friendly factory ammunition that will net me some decent brass along the way as I learn this rifle ?
1:8 twist/ 29" crowned. Savage dual port BR rifle.

Not aware of anything budget friendly for 6BR.

Sometimes these guys will sell some here but as popular as it is with all the off-springs of the 6BR it may be awhile before you would see anything.

davidjoe has a good idea but I would not say it was budget friendly.

Ammo saves time, sometimes the value of the components is a wash.

When I got into the caliber I bought 300 cases. Had powder and primers. Went with Speer 100 grain SP for fire forming.

No regrets on buying 300 cases… No regrets on the Speer 100 grainers, cost effective and proved to be fairly accurate with no real load development.

Most use lapua, it's the gold standard. Peterson appears to be very good from my experience. Those are the only ones that i have personally used. I personally would just buy lapua since it's available and priced competitively.

I’ve had 6BR & 6BRA bench guns. In my opinion, 1 box of Lapua brass will last the life of the barrel. It’s the cheapest part of reloading now that primers have gotten so expensive. Just order a box of Lapua now that it’s available and be done with it.

Box of Lapua will last a lift time if you anneal them, keep’m trimmed..

Not sure what presses you have ( screw in dies or arbor type) Redding, Wilson dies
A trimmer of sorts ( PMA has a cheap functionally one..
Lots of good loads on here as well..

As was already mentioned, buy some of the Lapua ammo in both the 90 grain and 105 grain Scenar.

While it will be expensive upfront, you'll have some good ammo to shoot while you learn the gun and you'll have some great brass to reload afterward.

like these guys have said there is no budget factory ammo for 6br. there isnt much factory ammo period— lapua is the only factory ammo i know of and i wouldnt call it budget friendly. cheapest way is to buy brass- lapua- peterson - adm

And, if the 105 Scenar-L OTM shoots well, just buy some of those bullets.

I suggest 105gr Berger Hybrid. 29 grs of varget for fire forming. you can test for seating depth while fire forming. most fire forming loads shoot surprisingly well. I am seating my hybrids .030 off the lands and getting 1/3 moa.

I would suggest reaching out to Harrells Precision and have them make you a sizing die. They will have you send them 3 pieces of fired brass. I think the cost is only about $125. Just buy a Wilson seating die. Berger 108s, Berger 105 Hybrids, or Sierra Matchking 107 all shoot very well in a 6BR.
