Fx 120I scale setup question

Just got my scale and setting it up. Put a nice piece granite under the scale and used a line conditioner. I have seen members say they put an anti static pad under the scale also. looking for recommendations for what mat to use or even if it's not needed.

It sounds like you have a very solid foundation for your scale. I have a solid foundation on mine as well. I do not believe in mats under a scale, for fear it will not support the scale the same under each foot. It is important to keep scales level. I added a level to my Chargemaster, and it helps.

I do not use any anti static methods except an occasional wipedown with a anti static cloth used for wash machines to keep clothes from clinging. I do this for my Fx120i , and my Chargemaster.

I went the whole anti-static route, pad, wrist strap, earth grounding, and it was a total waste of time and made no difference. The solid base is good. The scale must be near 100% level and not allowed to move or vibrate. As far as any static, when you place something on the scale, pull your hands back a couple feet until it stabilizes.

Try these settings. I have the speed Mode to "FAST", the Stability to "0", and the Zero Tracking set to "3", the highest setting. Sometimes it will settle on a reading 1 division high and withing 3-5 seconds return to the correct reading.

It's best to keep the breeze shield on and open only one of the side panels. Any air movement will cause the scale readings to fluctuate. Hope you don't have any problems. Mine would read correctly until I put 2 good quality ferrite chokes on the power cord and got a line conditioner. The electric evidently is dirty and I had fits trying to use the scale until I got those. It's rock solid now.

Just bought the granite slab to place it on and nothing else.
You can leave it on all the time or turn on an hour or so before use.
I would be careful if you live in an area that gets alot of thunder storms.
I just unplug mine if I know ones coming. If you want a surge
protector, not a bad purchase.
I've calibrated it several times, as the manual suggests and it's
right on every time.
I leave the top and side dust shields in place except for the one on the
right side. I'm right handed. As soon as I start, I take the top off.
After use, I place a light dish towel over the whole unit to help
keep unwanted dust off it.
