front rest?

If you were going to buy a new front rest to use for rimfire and centerfire benchrest for score shooting what would you buy? 50yd rimfire and 100/200yd centerfire . Been looking at Seb, Rodzilla but am also interested in the Randoph Machine. The Rodzilla is kind of out of reach unless i win the lotto .

So what is everyones opinion?

Ps im currently using a Cowan .

Caldwell Rock, with a Butch Lambert Shadetree joy stick. This setup will save you many bucks. And it will do everything you want it to. Just my two cents Tommy Mc

I use a Randolph exclusively, you can run both knobs simultaneously with practice, I don’t normally shoot score but the one time I did, I wished I had a joystick to do it with. Anything but a joystick in the score game would be pissing in the wind in my opinion. For group and 600/1000yd, a Randolph has no equal, again, IMO.

If your score shooting a joystick is a must, whether your a runner or a picker. I've bought and sold dozens of front rests. Forget the Farley. If you need a part or something screws up on your rest, trying to get ahold of the 3 Stooges is next to impossible. The Lenzi is a super rest and if you need a part Roberto will do everything in his power to take care of you, but IMO is way overpriced. I've owned 8 NEO's and I had a problem with one and I got ahold of Sebastian and I received the replacement part in a week. He's dynamite about taking care of his customers and his rest isn't way overpriced. If your on a budget then the shadetree will get er' done.

I've used a few different ones and there's some serious quality out there if you're willing to pay for it - the key word there is quality - look after a coaxial and you'll get a lifetime of use out of it - that's the way I look at them. SEB have a good reputation with good options and the new Rodzilla is also very well thought out and built to last. There's another new one coming out of Australia this year called Oplo - that;s another serious piece of engineering...

Try before you buy if you can - get out to some F-class or benchrest matches and see what gear the guys and girls are running. You might find something to your liking.

Nothing wrong with the cowan and i will probably stick with it for now, but am always looking. Would realy like to try a joystick rest and would like to try a rest that the top swivels.
What’s wrong with the Cowan? Get to know the Cowan and save your moo lah for barrels. And.. in the day and age, Bullets, primers, and powder.
