front rest?

I used a Shadetree on a Bald Eagle base for years, and still do for RF-BR. It still does all I could ask for. I switched to a Farley for CF F-Class and BR and it works fine but that sucker weighs a ton, which makes it rock solid.

Has anyone modified a shadetree to incorporate a front stop to provide for consistent gun location fore and aft? If so, what worked well to do so?

I use a Randolph exclusively, you can run both knobs simultaneously with practice, I don’t normally shoot score but the one time I did, I wished I had a joystick to do it with. Anything but a joystick in the score game would be pissing in the wind in my opinion. For group and 600/1000yd, a Randolph has no equal, again, IMO.
best out there. hand machined. can be custom painted

Here is the front of my rest, the whole in the front face is access to the stick mechanism and can’t be used for the front stop to preclude interfering with that. I am thinking that I can make a plate adapter that uses the two foremost Allen head screws and then interfaces to the front stop.

Your forend stop has been removed. At least they left the 2 bolts there for it. Call butch at shadetree and order a new forend stop and plate assembly.

I just purchased a new Shadetree top from Butch and mounted it on a BE "slingshot" base. It came with a triangular mount and a vertical rod, threaded at the bottom as a forend stop. Because my rifles don't have 3" wide forends I have to use a Sinclair "Bench Rest Adapter" which mounts back further and raises the rifle. So I had to make an extension and a new stop.

The extension is made of 1" aluminum channel and the stop is made from 1/2" aluminum round stock.

Who will make replacement parts for these awesome rests now that John has passed?
I heard a gentleman that used to work for him might be keeping the rest alive, I believe I read that from Johns daughter. There is not much to wear out on them.
