Front rest question

what are members experiences with the Randolph Machine Inc. front rest:
i was looking at getting new front rest, not sure if want a joy stick versus more traditional setup.
Looking at
a; Farley
b: Seb Neo rest
c: randolph Machine Inc front rest

i have operated the farley: it is to me pretty darn good. smooth, joystick new to me
not handled a Seb Neo yet: but heard really good
Opionions on the Randolph Machine Inc front rest?? any members own one??

Base your decision on your shooting style. Simply put, a coaxial rest allows faster target acquisition when traversing the target,i.e. sighter to record (group and score), and bull to bull (score). The faster you run (complete) the record target the better chance that you got the shots off in the same or at least close to the same condition. Some competitors shoot a lot of sighters, while others shoot as few as one. Some like to run the targets fast, while others feel more comfortable picking a condition that appears to repeat and shoot at a slower pace.

as a new shooter who now is trying to learn wind reading in addition, i tend to shooter slower then my competitors who are more seasoned then me.
i just cannot decide between one with Joy Stick or regular setup front rest.
I think the Joy stick would transition from target to target faster?

New shooters ORDER the seb neo, then buy the Sinclair BR or similar

By the time your used to competition 12 months or so you will want the joystick the. Your seb will come in after your year wait and you can then sale your other rest.

Another method that has been falling out of favor is the "bag squeezing" method. A softer rear bag is used in partnership with a standard front mechanical rest. The front rest is adjusted for major vertical and horizontal changes, while the rear bag is squeezed with the oft hand to make minor windage and elevation adjustments - a method faster than turning knobs. No matter which method, if you don't have a set up that tracks well, you'll miss out in those small windows of opportunity where your desired condition came and went.

Mark me down as a big fan of the joystick. I use the shadetree. There is one for sale now in the classifieds. It is on a Bullets.com base. I've inspected that base and it is pretty nice. --Jerry

I have a Randolph that I use in RFBR and it is Awesome!! You might need longer legs for further distance's

If you plan to shoot score, it is a no-brainer. You will significantly handicap yourself with a traditional rest. I was a very early user of the Farley, and I assure you that it was a significant part of attaining "IBS Score Shooter of the Year". Farley or SEB, don't think there is anything different there other than personal preference. Good luck in the future.

Joe, thanks alot for your input.
i am trying to learn as much as i can,
and shooting currently at local matches as a real beginner and I am learning really fast that the biggest obstacle for me currently are:
a: front rest : repeatability: i am not getting back into battery each time i shoot: frutrating as heck
b: back bag: getting a better back bag will help me alot
a good friend of mine had loaned me his back bag:(gator bag: full size one): and it really made a huge difference in the my last match: rifle tracked better with each shot.

i am now saving and hoping to be able to pick up either a farley or Neo Seb front rest.
as a new shooter,
iam learning load development, learning to read wind

but i hoping a better front rest and back bag will help me to score better at matches.

any input is appreciated, t
thanks
