Presentation last night at our monthly meeting on why we should let our club be used, for free, so a group can charge $225 per person to give a course NY made mandatory to get a Pistol Permit. Just another tax.

Sad thing is that the people who should take the course do not buy guns, they steal them and then get released when caught. Did hear a few horror stories about new, unknown and unpublished laws. You can be arrested if you leave a handgun in a locked glove box in a locked car. You are at fault if you do not retreat in an altercation. "we have met the enemy and it is no longer us, it's the government"

I had an old schoolteacher of mine from back in the 1970s that used to refer to New York as the “ the iron curtain in State” by cracky he was right!

Last I heard, some counties(not mine) are requiring the course be repeated for each renewal.
I think 2 days of instruction plus half a day live fire.
Some of the required instruction is telling us what a bad idea it is to have a gun.
Until the CCIA gets overturned the license granted is basically to possess a pistol in your own home.
Or buy a semi-auto rifle.

Allowing use of the club seems like a good idea. Provided the 'instructors' are not gouging.

I'm fairly sure 'duty to retreat' is old law in NYS.

The new vehicle storage law is ludicrous and not getting a lot of attention compared to the other atrocities.
Bad enough for pistols but they included long guns just for spite.
To not be a felon when I park the car for lunch, I would have to keep my f-class rifle in a fireproof, tamper proof case that is not visible from outside the car,
Flat out impossible with my car.

Sadly I grew up in Ducthess county NY. Its a beautiful county but I will never go back!

That is why the Forefathers put the 2nd Amendment into the Constitution. To be able to control and remove enemies within and that is exactly why the present government/politicians want to remove it from the Constitution. So they can take full control i.e. Communist/facist government is what they want.

We voted to let them use our clubhouse. It is a 3 day 16 hour course. I think the $225 is a little high, but I'll bet if one of their students does something stupid, they will be held responsible...just like NYS Hunter Safety Instructors. NYS would be apple red if not for NYC and the other 4 cities and Cornell University, the map is accurate. Sad thing is the people in those places have nothing in common with the rest of us, except THEY VOTE!

Bill I can not believe no one has liked your post in almost 12 hrs.. You are spot on!!! There are so many stupid people in this country and a fair amount here that don't believe this is what they are after. Total control can not be achieved until all firearms are confiscated from the peasants.
