I agree with that 100 percent , great way to monitor the "Locals" .I would have to believe for the states to take it on themselves to do firearms sales determinations and back ground checks they have to have a good reason. And I dont think its to keep the Feds out of our business.
I think States want to limit more buyers than the Feds do and generally stick there nose more into whats going on. They are also probably putting all this info in a database so they are basically registering all guns sold that paperwork is done on.
I worked at a pawnshop several years ago and when they delayed
a person, they had 3 days to call back with a response 1 way of
the other. After 3 days, they could pick up their gun. Laws may
have changed since but that was how it was then. If you got denied, a trooper would show up at your house the next day.
